Summary (BBC):
Life will come to a standstill for millions as the UK says goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II
Her state funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey in London at 11:00 BST, with 2,000 people in attendance
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to line the streets of the capital
Ahead of the funeral, King Charles said he had been “deeply touched” by public support for him and his family
Foreign royals and world leaders will join the Queen’s family for a service that will be watched by hundreds of millions globally
Schools are closed, as are many shops and other businesses, on the national bank holiday
After the service, the Queen’s coffin will be taken from the abbey to Wellington Arch, at London’s Hyde Park Corner
A hearse will then travel to Windsor for a final family ceremony at a chapel in Windsor Castle
who got better seats at the funeral?
biden
trudeau
emperor of Japan
kings of Spain or Netherlands or Sweden or Saudi
I honestly doubt that they were paying respects to her actual body.
I set my DVR so I can watch at a more decent hour.
I am certainly watching it.
Brandon won’t be. He’ll be sleeping in a puddle of diarrhea and snoring.
I wonder how Brits without a TV license are watching...
I happen to be surprised, or maybe not so surprised, that PBS is simulcasting the BBC.
I am currently watching. The queen’s casket has now been placed on the gun carriage, which will be transported by a whole mess of British navy ratings.
The casket is now being transported to Westminster Abbey.
I’ve had it on since 0530...pretty awesome experience. May she rest in peace.
I do hope an empty seat is left in the front row for Lydon LaRouche, the Queen’s favorite American politician.
Watching the ITV stream on YouTube. RIP to the Queen.
the crown seems to have collapsed on the coffin. i would have thought there would be something under it
QE2 was such a tiny pint, it has perplexed me that the pallbearers appear so physically strained carrying her coffin. Turns out the casket is lined with lead. Now it makes sense that the eight young men are struggling under the lead weight.
Unwatchable with three babbling idiots that never shut up
Nobody does “Pomp and Circumstance” like The British. Well Done.
The men now have to follow the coffin for a third time in one day. What a long day for the family.
Good to see people sitting together in St. George’s Chapel, not distanced like Prince Philip’s funeral.
ENOUGH ALREADY!
