BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Gray News) - Authorities in California say a school employee has been hospitalized after coming into contact with fentanyl pills on campus.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a Chipman Junior High School student allegedly brought 150 fentanyl pills disguised as Percocet to school on Sept. 9.
Authorities said a yard supervisor overdosed after inadvertently making contact with the pills while finding them on the student.
A police officer with the Kern High School District administered Narcan to the staff member, who was later transported to a hospital.
The BPD said the school supervisor was checking the student after the 13-year-old was involved in an unrelated altercation with another student that day.
Police said the student was also in possession of about $300.
According to Bakersfield police, it wasn’t immediately known if any of the pills were sold or given to other students, but the 13-year-old was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales purposes and other associated duties.
The school employee is expected to survive the incident, and BPD said it is working with the Bakersfield City School District to ensure campus safety.

The kid needs to tried as an adult.
Was the kid taking precautions from handling them?
Apparently he didn’t have any takers?
Why did he have both money and pills? Unless he had sold some? Or unless he bought them from someone else and had cash left over?
If he had sold some, I would expect some students would OD from handling them.
You never go full retard. "Inadvertently making contact." Hmmmm... Wonder what that contact might have entailed.
“Authorities said a yard supervisor overdosed after inadvertently making contact with the pills while finding them on the student. “
Only logical answer is to outlaw children
Then why didn’t the kid OD when handling the pills? I’ve heard “experts” say it takes more than just touching the stuff; it has to be ingested or inhaled in order to kill you. And the “experts” wouldn’t lie to us, would they? 🤣
Place yer bets.
Biden’s open-border policy will:
A. have little effect on America. Life will go on, with a few bumps here and there.
B. greatly increase the flow of drugs across the border. America will turn into one big opium den. Stories like this one will become commonplace.
I don’t know about anyone else. But I’m betting the farm, the tractor, and all the hay in the barn on “B”.
Might be a psychosomatic reaction. Even fentanyl skin patches, which have it in liquid form, don’t cause overdoses.

I’m more than a bit skeptical. If the pills were that strong, anyone who actually swallowed one would certainly die immediately. Not a good business model.
Why do you question the experts? I like it very much.

How do they know the earlier incident was unrelated to the kid having the dope since they also don’t know if the kid (with $300 in his pocket) sold any of it?
Indeed. Stranger things are happening. ;-)

Yard supervisor? Why does this sound like a prison detail.
Fentanyl not absorbed much through skin...the patches they use for intractable pain take awhile to work and the patch has a lot more fentanyl in it than one is going to get from skin absorption through the patch..difficult to get much absorbed from casual contact. Maybe the pills had carfentinil in it instead/also. Could have been an anxiety reaction from yard super. All could be merely supposition and more facts are needed to clarify the event.
You like fentanyl very much? I've never had it.What does it do for you?
A school employee took a fentanyl pill thinking that it was percocet. That is the “inadvertent “ part. Maybe more than one. Some of the 300 dollars the student had, used to belong to the school employee who bought the pills.
I was just touching them. Yeah. Right.
