Turns out they wanted the status titles all along, just not the 'life of service.
There's class. And if you have none, you might be Meghan and Harry.
The "non-working" royals, as the matter is delicately put, are in a snit these days because now that the queen is dead, they didn't get the spoils they thought they were entitled to:
According to the New York Post:
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids will not be given His and Her Royal Highness titles — leaving the exiled couple once again “furious” at the royal family over the snub, according to a report.
Harry’s dad, the new King Charles III, has agreed to soon bestow the titles of prince and princess on his California-based grandkids, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, according to the Sun.
But after a week of tense negotiations, he has refused to allow them to be known as HRH, titles that were stripped from their podcasting parents after they abandoned the family and the UK in 2020.
“That is the agreement — they can be prince and princess but not HRH because they are not working royals,” one insider told the UK paper.
The decision follows “a lot of talks over the past week” since Harry’s dad became king the moment his 96-year-old mother died last Thursday.
“They have been relentless since the Queen died,” the insider said of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, saying they “have been insistent that Archie and Lilibet are prince and princess.”
So what are we reading here? That they want the titles and status of royalty, nice high royalty, not some Ruritanian eurochicken title from some long gone dynasty, but don't want to put the work in of being royalty.

When’s the last time they’ve seen their kids? They’ve been in the UK for a couple of weeks, right? It was said the kids were left in US.
I’m surprised the one’s in line behind them are not asking these questions.

A week of tense negotiations about what to call their kids. This is why totals are trite and worthless. Somewhere Thomas Paine is snickering.
I think if they hadn’t done the Oprah interview, and Netflix, and the book deal... IMO, it is not just being non-working royals, they crossed some big lines, trashing the family & making money of them without giving back service to the UK.
Why do Americans care about Harry and Ho? Didn’t they get banished from the royal family?
Should they be in the line of succession if it were not? That is the question also.

Over the years I’ve noticed a death in the family can sometimes bring out the worst in people.
I’m sure a lot of people could tell stories about that.
Seen it many times. I guess it doesn’t matter what class your in, how much money you have or your status.
IMO they shouldn’t be there anyway because he wants to be “Just Harry” and they have made their distaste for the UK well known.

These two troubled the family while Prince Philip was dying too. At least that harridan didn’t come over for the funeral, but she did try to pull focus by having her PR release a notice about her wreath as the funeral was underway.
If you marry in and cause trouble the family will banish and punish you with no qualms (Diana and Fergie), but if you are a blood royal, they will put up with all your garbage (Margaret, Andrew and Harry). David and Wallis were the exception to that rule since they did give David the deep freeze treatment all his life. He was always whining about getting an HRH for his wife too.

That may be, but Meghan Markle with her own family drama, her 1ST husbands family, and now the royal family is obvious that she has far more skeletons than most. She thrives on attention and control, if she doesn’t get it, watch out.
“Working Royals”? Add that to the list of oxymorons, like jumbo shrimp.

IMO, KC III is going to continue to coddle and pacify Harry.
