21 for a handgun in Indy. Long guns are fine for 18.

Now, how ‘bout the 486 criminal homicide victims so far this year in Chicongo?

Apparently none of those folks had billions of dollars.

The black man charged with Eliza's murder was previously jailed for 22 years for kidnapping in 2000. This black man apparently didn't learn his lesson. Some animals are bad, and need to be put down like a rabid dog. He should have been put down in the year 2000.

Bring back ole sparky

A VERY SOUND and timely idea.

In the past Tennessee previously used it regularly.

While I'm firmly convinced that we will never see a lawful, ordered society until there is a rekindling of the Judeo-Christian ethic upon which this nation was founded, I think there are thee measures that could go a long way to promoting public safety. Want to see things straightened out with a quickness? Try these three measures:

1. Capital punishment ought to be on the table for any crime which the victim would have been authorized to resist with deadly force. In such cases, the criminal has placed a higher value on the fruits of his crime than he has his own life. That's not to say every such crime should be punished by death, but it ought to be in the prosecutor's quiver to be considered in the totality of the circumstances (violence of the act in question, criminal record, etc.)

2. Prosecutorial misconduct should, upon conviction, be automatically punishable by the maximum allowable punishment the prosecutor was seeking when the misconduct occurred.

3. Swatting/False Police Reports/False Accusations: Upon conviction, the perpetrator should automatically be imprisoned for the maximum allowable sentence for the crime they have falsely alleged another person to have committed.

“What is surprising is the local DA seems to coming down hard on Cleotha”

He’s probably been ‘advised’ regarding the damage angry billionaires are able to do to Democrats...so best to prosecute this one killer - so that he can stay in office and free hundreds of other killers.

Those are all very sensible ideas. It's sad then we can't even trust prosecutors. They all appear crooked and political.

The man is evil. How or why I don’t know. But if ever someone was right for the death penalty, he seems to be it.

Still wondering why the vic was out jogging alone at 4:30 in the morning...

In her pictures, she looked like a long-distance runner (very thin, but muscular). If so, she likely ran for over an hour several mornings a week before cleaning up and going to work.

I used to go running at 5 most mornings (many years and many, many pounds ago). OTOH, I was over 6' tall and had nothing worth stealing.

At first the police seemed to investigate the husband; they took garden shears and an SUV from his residence.

Whenever a woman disappears, the husband or boyfriend is the first suspect that has to be investigated and ruled out, because in most cases the husband or boyfriend did it.

Add “Bring back public hangings in the courthouse square” to the top of your list.

The death penalty is not much of a deterrent when everyone knows that it will take at least 20 years to execute anyone sentenced to death and if he is ever executed, he will be peacefully put to sleep.

In our system, within the law, some states have legally passed a death penalty. Felons get more chances, dna retrials and lots and lots of delays. Often 20 years of delay in prison.

It is no good to have a good law for the death penalty if it is not used often.

As long as rich liberals can still hire armed bodyguards that is all that matters.

It's bizarre journalists would capitalize death penalty when his guy has already killed his victim.
