Damn....it's brutally hot...

Posted on 09/06/2022 12:39:48 PM PDT by Kevin in California

The entire state of California is a cinder box right now. Just stepped outside to grab my mail and it was sweltering. Looks like it's 103 right now. Supposed to peak at 106 but I'm guessing 110.

Hope you're all staying cool...

You must be in great shape to do all that work for some extra heat.

I live in a total electric home. Seemed like a good idea for a retiree, twenty years ago.

Now, not so much. My electric bill is about to go up 40% again.

Last Dec., Jan., Feb. it was $400 a month.

And, yes, it’s Biden’s fault.

Actual or feels like? Here in NC they don’t report the “actual temperature” anymore.

It’s always the “feels like” temp which can be as much as 20 degrees greater that the actual temp.

I can’t use that data. I have to actually go outside and my system will tell me what if feels like. Coincidently, it’s in line with the actual real temp.

#36 have him move to Ventura, California where the temps are 20 to 25 degrees cooler in the summer. The ocean is right there and the cool breezes roll over Ventura.
The San Fernando valley will be 110 degrees and in Ventura it is at most 80 degrees. Ventura is about 40 miles from the valley.

I’m sitting in the Spokane airport for a flight to San Jose that leaves in 20 minutes. Ugh! Beautiful mid 80s and crystalline blue skies in Idaho today.

BS. I grew up ib Orange County, CA in the 60’s and 70’s. It was always hot (triple digits) at the start of the school year (early to mid September). Bunch of freakin whiners.

Currently, HHO is about $1.50/gallon in Montgomery county.

Who can possibly be selling it for that price? Did you mistake the first digit?

Bunch of babies crying over heat. I live right smack in the swelter and I don’t cry about it I just sweat more. Put your water into perspiration and not into teardrops.

113 at an official stand alone weather station, 200 yards from our home.

It is a dry/arid heat like in the desert valley of Cali/Arizona, and we are 50 miles from the ocean.

Twin HVAC units are not keeping up with the increasing heat since about 10:30 am. 84/85 is the best that they can do. We had them installed about 8 years ago. This is the first time for this including the fires 3 years ago and 1 year ago.

It got down to 75 outside after midnight last night. 56~58 is normal at this date. Our homes are not cooling off even after sunset. Again 84/85 are our low inside temps.

Hi guy.

You know the FBI and the CA Department of Equalization monitor this forum. Be careful, if they know you are a FReeper they will cut off your electricity first.

Good luck.
It’s 94 here, and the alligators are mating.

Sheesh.

Cheaper? Not for long...from WMUR,,.

'Oil prices are around $6 per gallon, which will increase by the end of the year to $8 or $9 per gallon.'

That's roughly THREE TIMES what I paid for it in NH before I got out...fortunately; NH has plenty of trees, as well. :-)
