Haha! That’s so true. I’ve read multiple times through the years that, following a nuclear holocaust, the only things left would be cockroaches. It’s possible that the sewer roach in NOLA could fly and was just choosing to walk. He did disappear rather suddenly while I was talking to the videographer. It occurred to me that I didn’t know why that man would be filming the card play so I asked. I was shocked when he told me that people cheated at bridge at very high levels of play, and filming the play helped identify their methods of cheating. I lost track of the beast while I was losing my innocence.

I’m guessing a bit here, but they may have re-assigned him first and then as the underlings were interviewed and figured out he was no longer their boss, they better save their own butts by coming forward with whatever he was up to. Then he was fired/forced to resign.

You are right. A few of the posters have found other articles that provide more information and that appears to be the correct chronology of events. I’ve noticed a worsening problem among journalists these last 5 years. It’s much more common now to read a news article and not be clear about what happened or when it all happened. The spelling mistakes and disorderly presentation of the facts are shocking to me. I used to hold journalists on a pedestal when it came to use of English, even though I couldn’t trust them to not editorialize or be unbiased. Now we don’t even have literate biased journalists.
