Parents at a ritzy Manhattan private school are outraged by its ultra-woke librarian's declaration that gender doesn't exist - as well as a blood-curdling call for violence against her straight white male colleagues.
Ingrid Conley-Abrams, 43 - librarian at the Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School - landed in hot water in August after parents came across a 2015 of hers saying 'Burn White Straight Male Librarianship to the Ground.'
The tweet was officially flagged as hate speech by Twitter and left Conley-Abrams' account suspended for a period this month, according to The New York Post, but parents at the $59,000-per-year school said it was only one incident in years of eyebrow-raising behavior from the librarian.
'If a student posted that they want to burn down or shoot up a library they would be expelled,' one mother told The Post, 'In addition she's claiming that gender is fake and she [tweeted] that she wants to keep students from matriculating in the Ivy League. Are parents aware this is what they are paying almost $60,000 a year for?'
That mother was referring to a 2020 tweet in which the librarian wrote 'Sadly, the students at my school only go on to Ivy League colleges so I've truly failed them with my queer, free-wheeling godless radical hotbed of a library. :('

Indeed, teacher and education reformer John Taylor Gatto identified the public school curriculum and teaching method as at fault in its goal of producing reliable workers and tractable citizens and voters instead of trying to develop the minds, skills, and life goals of their students.
As a novice teacher in NYC without political backing, Gatto was assigned a class of the worst behaved, academically failing students in a ghetto high school, almost all minorities. In the first week, Gatto ditched the padded out, dumbed down lesson plans he was assigned and offered his class a deal: be properly behaved and let me teach a condensed version of the lesson plan and coursework in the first five minutes, and in return, you get to spend the rest of the day reading what you want and working on a class presentation of your own choosing.
Gatto then plopped down a pile of magazines for the students to read and gave them a week to design and pick the subject of their presentation. For example, a gear head got to present an explanation of how a car engine works, a budding rapper got to talk about rap and perform, a math geek did number tricks, and a teen hair stylist gave a haircut to a guy and a new look to a girl classmate. And the kids not only sat still but listened and took an interest in what their classmates were saying and doing.
Gatto's kids also did their classwork. And standardized tests showed astonishing academic improvement. Gatto was named teacher of the year, but soon targeted and forced out by the teacher union and the public school bureaucracy for not following the standard lesson plan. The performance and success of Gatto's kids was beside the point of public education for minorities: low level workers and an aggrieved but subservient voting block.

I did my best to do that, but, then I retired and realized I got out just in time!
Hey! I worked hard! Besides having to supervise a bunch of folks, not all of whom liked each other, I had to deal with a County Commission (who liked me, fortunately), a City Commission, whiney fellow employees, many mentally ill customers (at least two of which assailed me), at least one psychotic directors, and that was just working at the Public Library.
I ran a prison library for a number of years, and, while the inmates were a little easier to deal with, I still had the occasional mentally ill guy who would freak out.
It was a great job, but, some individual minutes really sucked.
Thanks for your post of how a truly dedicated teacher, with a little creativity and motivation, can overcome the obstacles of “ghetto-think” and moribund NEA methods. It reminded me of the legendary Jaime Escalante (the movie “Stand and Deliver”) and LouAnne Johnson, the similar inspiration for the Michelle Pheiffer film “Dangerous Minds”. They proved these kids CAN be taught and should not be relegated to socialist-indoctrinated dependents programmed to keep Democrats in power.
“Inclusion” means “exclude Whitey” (especially if HE is normal).
“Diversity” means “KILL Whitey”.
“Equity” means “Steal all of Whitey’s stuff”.
I would think nearly all straight, white, male librarians are just as woke as this hyperwokist. So she’s actually willing to turn on those who are just as woke as she is?
