These new electric pickups are wonderful towing companions, aided by massive horsepower and torque that allow for easy merging with the flow of interstate traffic, and their heavy curb weights (between 6855 pounds for the F-150 and 9640 pounds for the Hummer) lend an impressive stability when lugging a three-ton trailer. But you won't want to be going far, as a full battery will take you a mere 100 miles in the Lightning, 110 miles in the R1T, and 140 miles in the Hummer. Although the Hummer consumes electricity at the highest rate of the three, its considerably larger battery pack more than makes up for the difference.
Dang it, posted the URL in the comment section.
Here it is again:

Youtube video has guys driving a lightning with a bed camper. Got 80 miles before running out of juice. They were testing for distance.
When EV’s are mandatory there won’t be many campers anymore. That’ll put a huge dent in tourism, especially in the West where a lot of people rent them for vacation.
im guessing its not good
why not just widen the roads so they can really make competitive evs?
So, this is still basically a non-starter. My 2004 Chevy with a 5.3 liter gasoline engine does just fine with a 23’ flying cloud will easily go 350 miles between fuel stops.
Torque is great! If only there was an existing technology with more torque than a gasoline engine.
In before the EVnistas claiming you’ll love playing frisbee and walking your dog for the 8 hours it takes to charge your EV truck.
By the tome Biden is done they won’t be any more vacations they call the summer work camps.
Get in the bus sit down an shut up
Let’s see...I towed my 14000 lb fifth wheel 400 miles today and will tow it 350 tomorrow on my way home to Alabama. Don’t think any any of those could handle it.
100 miles won’t get most to the lake and back with a boat.
They’re an outstanding solution for towing a camper around the metro area!
Lose the house and live in the camper because you won’t be able to afford anything else.
EV’s are a joke. Unfortunately, the driving public is the butt of said joke.
The EV transition is a tool to destroy personal transportation for good.
Until an electric pickup can go 300+ miles loaded, it ain’t ready for consumers. I’ll stick to my 3/4 ton with diesel engine, thanks.
Not to be indelicate but were they still alive when someone happened upon them out in the wilderness?
That's the idea...Create chaos in every direction, restrict travel by forcing people to buy electrical power sucking EV's to put additional load on an outdated power grid.
Gomer Pyle getting out of the Wally’s Garage tow truck:
“I got a gallon gas can but we don’t get many of these electric truck break downs. I can tow you back to Wally’s and you can stay at the hotel overnight until maybe tomorrow afternoon when your recharge is all done. We only got the slow charge kind in Mayberry. Behind Floyd’s Barber Shop. Sorta goes along with our slowed down easygoing life. We like it.”
I agree. When gas goes back to around 2 bucks, when Trump returns, this latest EV spurt will be history.
Maybe they can pull a third trailer that is a battery.
