Men are lonelier than ever as they struggle to meet the higher dating standards of modern women, according to a psychologist.
American psychologist Greg Matos wrote in a recent Psychology Today article that the current state of young and middle-aged men's love lives shows they need to 'address a skills deficit'.
He said: 'I hear recurring dating themes from women between the ages of 25 and 45: They prefer men who are emotionally available, good communicators, and share similar values'.

That is a given.
Yes. I’m an old lady so I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I know a lot of young women who are not the money grubbing type, and, for the most part conservative women are far more attractive than liberal women.
I hate to see so many young people living in silos.
Not all of them, my friend.
Not all of them.

Well nowadays being a “Republican” in no guarantee neither.
The less accountable women are, the less feminine women are.
Bingo, and their alleged “studies” are based on dating apps, which, like the rest of the internet, has no basis in physical reality.
When the wife turns 40 you trade her in for two twenty’s.
True, and let's be clear about what better options means:
1. A future w/o a woman required since we're happy on our own and have other interests & hobbies that are meaningful;
2. Other women available.
At my age, both apply. Since #1 already exists, #2 is a "nice to have" and my GF of 4 years knows it. That means she has to work her ass off to keep me interested.
No, she didn’t, but she thinks every woman would want me, thinks I am super handsome, and that I am the best thing to happen to her, and we’ve been married a while.
I didn’t pay her to say that.
I do keep her laughing quite a bit, we had nearly all our values in common when we met, but were coming at them from directions that were not necessarily in common, at all, and we quickly grew together. We are both Christians and we both have decent minds. We help each other and enjoy each other’s company.
Yes you did, and an awesome sense of humor like yours helps keep a marriage going.
In all seriousness, congratulations to you. You picked wisely. I was married 30 years to the wrong woman, and I didn't.
Wishing you and the Mrs. many more years of happiness going forward. Best to both ofyou.
Its threads like these that make me miss Chateau Hartiste!

Agreed.
I go along with the Bogart character in "Play it Again Sam." where he tells Woody Allen, "You know, kid, somewhere in life you got turned around. It's her job to smell nice for you. And don't get nervous."
Women were made for men, not the other way around. If the right one comes along, great. If not, it's OK. I'll enjoy my life.
That is the way that God planned it. :-)

Women were made for men, not the other way around. Men were made to be independent, not women.

Melvin Udall.
One thing the Women’s Movement has done is create a proliferation of women who are irrational (way off the crazy part of the Crazy-Hot Matrix) and unaccountable.
