Sorry, my friend. I’ve been around since DITHF and Ash days. Computer crashed and lost my login, so had to create a new FR profile.
Worked with Basil and DallasMike, did a lot of work with AlamoGirl on The China Puzzle.
I hope a new group of young people pick up the torch.

“Young people aren’t educated enough to write a complete sentence.“
There are are many great young minds out there. What are we doing to show them what conservatism is like ?

Does 34 count as young? Full disclosure, I have recently turned that corner where I am channeling my father when parenting. I fear that might disqualify me from the "young people" category.😂🤣😂 (By the way he is the one who got me hooked on the site so if you are reading this, know I hope to be half the parent you were to me)
"School is your job, so just like your dad has to do his work to have the things we NEED, you will do your schoolwork or you cannot get on the computer to play Roblox like you WANT!"
"As long as you live under my roof you have no privacy. You get privacy when you get your own place!"
"That was not a question or request young man."
And best of all... "Because I am your mother, and I said so! That's why!"

after a brief fling in the 90s early 2000s most people have decided that talking with strangers on the internet is for weirdos and that applies especially to conservatives. Libtards less so since they have so much free time and like to lecture people.
The young conservatives that are online alot that exist have moved on to the big leftwing umbrella social media platforms like reddit and twitter where they play an eternal game of whack a mole with the admins constantly getting banned and coming back under new accounts. This limits the growth of online conservative communities.
A much smaller more sensible portion live on altweb less censored versions of these platforms like saidit and 8kun.But people are lazy and tend to go where everyone else is so these groups remain small. Also the people trying to run these altweb sites often fail to realize it takes more than just a vague desire to escape censorship to succeed when big tech and every activist under the sun wants to take you down so these sites often buckle under pressure.
Special interest independent sites like Freerepublic are a dying breed thanks to people being so lazy they prefer the major platforms despite all the censorship and traditional surfing not being hard at all. I would hazard a guess if you looked at the traffic for this place its relatively stagnant if not on a downward trend. Whoever is going to inherit this place from Jim better be looking for a second job.

'But I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.'
I've always thought that was a great lyric. It rings true for a lot of us who grew up too serious, and learned to lighten up with age.

First looked around here in 2002 when I was 30.
Can’t understand where the time has gone.
Can’t hardly believe the next 20 are gonna go any slower.
Love me some FR everyday. Best place on the interweb.
To: week 71
I joined about 26 years ago, fairly young at that time. :-)
As I recall I found FR via a link on the Drudge Report which I was frequenting at the time as Matt Drudge was breaking the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky story.
I still visit FR nearly every day, while I rarely venture to the DR, as Matt Drudge (or whoever is running the page), has become a lazy sock puppet for the Deep State.

My son calls it the most boring website on the net.
He doesn’t get the appeal, even though he agrees with us.
