I’d more than fifth amendment. I’d so some serious “can’t recall”.

Thanks for the copy. He should have just said “I don’t recall” or better yet…something akin to “What difference does it make?”

I’m glad he did this. It’s time to stop being on the defense.

Taking the fifth in a civil case can be used against you. But in this case, since the FBI showed their hand that they are pursuing a criminal case, Trump should be able to use that as a mitigating factor, since anything he said in the civil case would be used against him in the criminal case.

Outside of anything required by law, after multiple appeals, tell or give them NOTHING!

Why answer any questions if it’s not a criminal case or even a civil case - but a “civil investigation over his business” - per this Axios article.

I personal think this is hillarious, she wasted a year and countless dollars to drag Trump into a deposition, then he just walks in, pleads the fifth, and leaves.

Wise choice — he doesn’t want to end up with a conviction, as Roger Stone did.

-——fraudulent and misleading asset valuations to obtain economic benefits.”——

As a matter of interest, there is evidence in many, many, Forbes issues where there was an ongoing correspondence concerning the Trump net worth. The correspondence between Forbes and Trump centered around the Forbes Billionaires annual issue wherein a value was attached to a billionaires name.

Trump maintained that Forbes always undervalued his holdings.

Forbes maintained that the valuation was obtained from various documents available to the researchers who did nothing except place a value on the net worth of the various billionaires.

This ongoing battle is well described in the Forbes 100th anniversary issue published in September 2017 while Donald Trump was president.

So, if Steve Forbes is subpoenaed, he can be forced to produce a near endless correspondence on the subject of Trump asset valuation.

Good. Trump doesn’t owe these haters anything but the minimum. Which is what all of us owe liberal haters: as little as humanly possible.
