While I’m here, I’ll give an update on my arm.
So, while I could point and show what the problem is, the bottom line is the hardware needs to come out, a cast will be put on, so that I can heal some bones and rest everything for 6 weeks.
While I’m not looking forward to anesthesia again, I am looking forward to getting the hardware out. I think it is hampering my ability to heal.
I do like the surgeon. She has a lot of good reviews, I think she’ll get this right. She even does nerve repair, so if she perhaps nicked a piece of the nerve which is causing my pinky finger to be numb, I think she can fix that at some point.
So, Tues is the surgery date.
From what I understand, I could draw a picture lol.. I broke the radius in 3 pieces and the ulna in 2. I keep getting asked if my bones are bad (doctors, pa) and the answer is no, but ice is very unforgiving.
I had a CT done Tues and the radiologist said the bones looked solid in my arms and hands. Not in those terms. Haha, I love medical speak, super concise and facts only maam.
“Miminal lucency of distal screws.” “Projectional or artifactual phenomenon.”
I still think when they put the plate on and the screws in, it probably jarred/loosened the bone on the radius and that is the bone that has collapsed down, thus bringing the screws up and they are now pointing in my hand area and causing me a LOT of discomfort. My ulna isn’t healing either. It is also really painful.
I had 2 choices for treatment...Behind door #1 was one was cast it for 12 weeks and hope it heals. But it heals with issues. And behind door #2 was surgery with pins and screws and confetti and balloons and cake and healing in 6 weeks!!!! So, yeah I chose door #2. 🤣🤣
I’m not healed, 8 weeks after the break, 7 weeks after the surgery.
But I’m confident that once I get this hardware out, all will calm down and I will heal those bones with the help of God.
The alternative if I’m not healed in 6 weeks is really nasty bad. They rebreak all the bones, clean the edges, any scar tissue, replate and rescrew.
Mon/Tues I had hit a wall mentally. Today I’m like “GET IT OUT”.
It sounds like you’re on the right path. God bless you and prayers are up.

I’m praying for your arm to heal perfectly, peteypupperdoo! I have a real life friend who just went through a nasty complex arm break also. Haven’t seen her since before it happened, but learned all about it via text messages. Especially tough for her, as she lives alone, and feeds a couple dozen feral cats as well. But she just got to back to work this week, to the place where it happened. She had mixed feelings about that - yikes! What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, I guess...
Oh Petey, such a bad time you’ve had. My goodness. You are very brave and still have your sense of humor intact. Hang in there! 🌸
Gosh petey I’m so sorry... sending healing vibes to you and your arm ❤️
Hang in there ppd. Prayers are again being sent to the Great Healer.
Many prayers for you and your medical staff. Please keep us posted if you can. Such complicated breaks! God bless!
Ouch. Prayers up petey!
Thinking about you, Petey. In my prayers.

Thank you for update and prayers for finally healing.
good luck and git er done!
Praying this surgery to fix goes well for you.
God bless you! Prayers offered for complete healing!
My mom broke her hip when she wasn’t all that old - probably in the late 1960’s early 70’s. She was on crutches for a year. Finally my Dad (a doctor) told the surgeon to get that pin out in no uncertain terms.
Mom was walking without the crutches in less than 6 weeks.
Oh my gosh, girl, you have been through a lot.
Still a way to go.
Prayers for your complete healing.
God Bless.
