Here’s a better idea - simplify the tax code. Drastically. Like 10% for all, not deductions, no exemptions, credits, no adjustments of ANY kind. So simple even a democRAT could figure it out.

I’m a federal sales tax guy. Collect it at the cash register, total “Truth in taxation “. When that 10$ item has a 1$ state tax and a 15$ federal tax people will come unglued.
The other positives:
-No IRS the state treasurer will send a monthly check to the US treasurer and I’m sure the secretary can deposit 50 checks a month.
- Power over unfunded mandates, state Gov may withhold tax check for DC stupidity. (Sates rights!)
- price of goods sold is decreased by all payroll/SS/MEDICARE/MEDICAID taxes/ fuel taxes/ phone or comm taxes etc.
Would not take long to weed out the swamp!

None of any other taxes.
As it currently stands, almost every tax-penny collected by the State for any taxing authority is sent to the federal govt and then allotted BACK to them by a formula that is altered annually (by unelected bureaucrats).
Yes, a large portion of your property taxes passes thru Washington (Dept-Edu) before your school district sees ANY of it.
