Did Merrick Garland have to approve this Trump raid, or can the FBI move on its own? Did the FBI move on its own? (vanity)

Did Merrick Garland have to approve this Trump raid, or can the FBI move on its own? Did the FBI move on its own? My take is that this raid had to be approved by the DOJ, meaning Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Your input is appreciated!

Folks—this is why the western oligarchs put a senile old codger in the WH.

If anything goes bad the guy just starts drooling and says he can’t remember anything.

Garland had to approve.

The Attorney General's Extension Of His Predecessor’s Elections Investigations Policy Sparks Debate Over Its Merits

This past spring, the attorney general extended his predecessor’s requirement that investigations into presidential or vice-presidential candidates, as well as their senior staff and advisors, can’t begin without written notification to the department and his written approval, as reported earlier this week. There has been much debate since then as to whether that was justified.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reported Monday night on a memo Attorney General Merrick Garland sent to Justice Department employees in May reminding them of the department’s elections policies amid the 2022 midterm season. The initial memo that then-Attorney General William Barr issued in February 2020 was an effort to avoid mistakes made during the 2016 campaign, The New York Times reported at the time. Also, while previous attorneys general have stated that the department needs to take additional caution on campaign-related probes during election years, Barr was the first to mandate that the FBI must confer with the department before opening these investigations, the paper noted.

Assume he means Biden - or whoever is really running the country.

Which of course does not look hinky as biden is looked at to be a candidate for 2024 as is President Trump. Nothing less than a do-no-t-run-or-else message to President Trump from presidunce biden if that proves to be the reason.

Neither the FBI or DOJ moved on raiding Trump without the express approval of the White House. Bet.

The DOJ controls the FBI. I haven’t seen anything that indicates FBI is so rogue is can operate on its own.

Yup...they must be terrified every time they see the turn outs when Trump holds a rally. I hope Trump has plenty of protection so he doesn’t “trip” and manage to kill himself...COZ’ that is how worried the powers that be are right now IMO.

Joe DeGenova said the same thing on WMAL this morning. From the very top, whoever that is.

“Very close to the White House” - the cabal for whom Joe Stolen/”Que mala” Harris are but the figureheads for. This probably went even higher than Obama, and for sure Ron Klain, WH Chief of staff.

The FBI was acting as the “jack-booted government thugs”, so aptly described back in the 1990’s, when Billy Jeff was sending them in.

Trump needs to file a lawsuit arguing the criminal enterprises inside government are trying to protect themselves thru intimidation, violating his liberties.

I prefer he run and win in 24 and lock the whole lot of them up.

He did approve it, but not sure if he had to approve it though.

"I hope Trump has plenty of security"

So do I. Wonder what security he has at Mar-a-Lago and what - if anything - were they able to do yesterday?

True, but there are tens of thousands of those unelected bureaucrats that would tie him up for ten years trying to rip them out by the roots.

Does anyone now doubt that the commie/democRATs released the virus to cause a panic so they could steal the 2020 election? They had nothing to run on. Zero, nada, nitch. Then suddenly the WuFlu allowed them to change the rules on voting without authority.
They are panicking about the mid terms and again have nothing to run on. So they are trying to destroy Trump. They are trying everything to stop him from being re-elected.
They will try to steal 2022 election too, but they may have just screwed the pooch on this one.

Peter King is on Newsmax right now.

He just said that President Trump already met with the FBI and they had inspected these documents.

Is this the FBI or the KGB?

I figured one dodge that the Biden Administration can use is >>> Lawyers from the National Archive contacted the FBI for assistance in getting documents from Trump that lawfully belong to the National Archives. The Archive's lawyers and FBI lawyers go to a connected DC judge, saying we believe that Donald Trump has a few hundred documents that belong to us. This judge signs the warrant for the FBI to go into Mar A Lago.

BTW -- The FBI raiding party was composed of all Washington based FBI. Not any local FBI

Are those the same toilets with the torn up notes that Trump threw in, without flushing them all down?

I heard they’re still not flushed, two years+ later....

Yet it was reported that Trump had already turned those documents over to them months ago.

That’s a very good speculation of a mundane process which can be completely weaponized by like-minded statists in DC.

I’ve always tried to define “the deep state.”

DC Courts have to be included as key players in their lawfare.
