Bill Whittle Jon Stewart, War Criminals & The True Story of the Atomic Bombs
Bill Whittle's Afterburner ^ | Aug 6, 2021 | Bill Whittle

Bill Whittle demolishes Jon Stewart's contention that the U.S. should have dropped a demonstration atomic bomb before using real bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This video is one year old today.

They had not delivered their cargo. Reason they went off protocol for the enemy waters…full flank, no zig zagging.

They had delivered the components for LittleBoy and were on their way from the Tinian Island back from their mission. They were torpedoed by a Jap sub just after the mid-watch turn over. It was a top secret mission they weren’t noticed lost for 4 days because of the secrecy of the mission. Not zig-zagging got the Indy’s Skipper courts-martialed.

After that ship successfully delivered the bombs to an island where they would be loaded on airplanes, the USS Indianapolis was sunk by the Japanese on its way back home, with the loss of many soldier's lives. IIRC one of the bombs had “Greetings to the Emperor from the men of the Indianapolis" written on it by the delivering soldiers.

The answer is simple. You only have to look back to Pearl Harbor.
They got what was coming to them. Most Americans today have no idea of the atrocities committed vy the Japanese or of the deception and cruelty engendered in the adherence to the Bushido code. Ask any Marine or Soldier who faught across the Pacific about the Japanese code of honor. There is a reason our forces took no prisoners. Dugout Doug was far too lenient in the occupation.

I always thought the first one should have taken the top off of mt fuji. Followed immediately by taking out the cities we did.

Changing the appearance of mt fuji wouldn’t be a warning, but would always be there as a reminder,

The usual nonsense about a “demonstration bomb.”

NO ONE KNEW IF AN ACTUAL BOMB WOULD WORK. We did not test a bomb. We tested a “device” on top of a tower under controlled conditions.

A “demonstration” to Japanese leaders could have three results, two of them bad:
1) it’s a dud, and they are more committed than ever to staying in the war . . . AND we lost one of only six devices that would be ready before March of 1946.
2) it works, but the Japanese don’t care. AND we lost one of only six devices that would be ready before March of 1946

(Oh, and since these were “devices” and not bombs, did I mention there were two COMPLETELY SEPARATE technological approaches, and that we didn’t know if the OTHER would work either?) So possibly, we lost one of three in either scenario.

3) the Japanese say “OK, Yankee dog. We quit.” Highly unlikely.

The first response by the Japanese war council was to summon their own atomic scientist, Dr. Nishina, and ask him to visit Hiroshima. He did and confirmed it was an atomic bomb. “How long before you can make one?” he was asked.

I agree 100%. I have been a faithful and enthusiastic member of his website, billwhittle.com now for a number of years. He is one of the best pundits there are, and while he does not have the gravitas or education of someone like Victor Davis Hanson, he is unmatched in his ability to communicate common-sense Conservative principles in a way that resonates with people. I have always been puzzled he is not a bigger name in our movement.

He has produced many outstanding short videos (less than ten minutes) on various items, and some series that are superb, such as these as samples:

He has this seven part series "What We Believe" that I got as a DVD set for joining his site. I was so impressed with it, that I was going to buy twenty copies of it (at then $24.99 ea. from his website) to give to people as gifts, only to find out before I pulled the trigger that he offers them for free to everyone.

These are short, perhaps 10-15 min long at most, and highly uplifting to watch. Instead of "What We Hate About The Left", they are very positive, and describe why WE feel the way we do as conservatives.

That doesn’t surprise me. But I think Bill Whittle does a better job of getting his point across, from what I have seen. And I do like Carlson’s presentation as well.

I don’t have any problem with Tucker Carlson’s content. But I don’t watch television and I don’t have cable, so I don’t, as a rule, consume any news from any mainstream American news sources, including Fox.

So the only time I see Carlson is when I seek out his material online. I enjoy his work.

Tucker is great, I’d just like for him to have some serious conservative competition. Whittle could provide that.

My recently deceased 88 year old father worked with a gentleman who survived the Bataan death march and if a group was going out for lunch and the driver had a Japanese car, he refused to ride in it.

The sub commander later testified that zigzagging would have been completely ineffective in defeating his firing solution.

NO ONE KNEW IF AN ACTUAL BOMB WOULD WORK.

There's knowing and there's knowing.

The Trinity "device" was identical to the physics package in "Fat Man"; it was a plutonium implosion system. There was indeed some not insignificant doubt as to whether it would work. Therefore, it was tested. "Little Boy" was a uranium gun device, and nobody at all doubted that it would work.
