It should be TRUMP in 2024 - and DeSantis should wait until 2028 because he's still young and needs to make Florida a red state for generations: CPAC attendees reveal who they want to be on the ticket to face the Democrats
UK Daily Mail ^ | August 8 2022 | ROB CRILLY

When President Donald Trump takes the stage at a major conservative conference in Dallas on Saturday he will likely have just received a boost to his 2024 plans in the form of a straw poll that will almost certainly rank him as the clear favorite among attendees.

But that is not the end of the story as far as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose star has been on the rise this year.

Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference want him first to continue the work he is doing in Florida before taking up the national MAGA torch in the 2028 election.

The results in Arizona suggest otherwise.

um yea that’s why Trump is having “TRUMP 2024” emblazoned on his plane at this very moment.

He repainted his airplane, a scheduled maintenance activity.

It says "TRUMP" on it, not "TRUMP 2024"

Thanks for your opinion, but you didn’t name any metrics.

Don’t get me wrong. I would absolutely love for Trump to be president again. I believe he would be even better the second time around because I am sure he learned a lot the first time. He trusted too much slime. He believe he would clean house from the start if re-elected.

That said, I am not sure he’s our best chance. I also believe people are underestimating just how good DeSantis is politically. He takes a lot of heat but he dishes right back at them.

If I had my way, the next president would be Trump/DeSantis but I’ve learned I don’t always get what I want. All I know is that we cannot afford to lose in 2024.

I appreciate your view. Please reply to my earlier post, it would be great if RDS suporters would reply to it. I’d love to hear why you all think he’ll somehow be immune to what the leftist smear machine does:

Really?

The Hispanics are defying the demographic stereotype the left has imposed on them more and more.

My prediction if the election was today. Georgia is the state to watch. A lot of Blacks and Woke Democrats moving to Atlanta may have transformed the state permanently. Sort of like NoVa in Virginia.

Yes, and DeSantis will have 4 more years to establish the next Florida team.

And it’s good that younger MAGA candidates are winning, stripping power away from the establishment hacks. I consider DeSantis a MAGA candidate, more so that Trump himself, who talked the talk but didn’t always walk the walk. DeSantis is the real deal.

Trump in the White House and DeSantis as governor of FL would be a great pair. One demonstrating what states’ rights are the President backing him up. After 4 years, send DeSantis to Pennsylvania Avenue to support other governors who have grown tetstickles.

he isn’t moving his family to the harsh miserable climate of washington dc anytime soon...

The Swamp never did what they did in 2020 to the degree it did in the past. And they aren’t unbeatable, even now.

RDS has shown himself to be an excellent governor, and he has done a great job fighting the left.

That being said, he has not had to deal with the 24/7 leftist machine that will set their sights on destroying him. As I said, none of us know if he can actually stand up to the machine as Trump did. We don't know.

I'll take the known quantity, the fighter, the one the left telegraphs us daily that they fear.

If Trump doesn't run, I'm all in for RDS, but not til then.

I do hope the time will come when the torch can be passed. But it’s just as crucial that Trump himself ultimately prevails.

And you base that on the last DeSantis rally?

Try visiting a Trump rally and see if your POV is affected.
