It should be TRUMP in 2024 - and DeSantis should wait until 2028 because he's still young and needs to make Florida a red state for generations: CPAC attendees reveal who they want to be on the ticket to face the Democrats

When President Donald Trump takes the stage at a major conservative conference in Dallas on Saturday he will likely have just received a boost to his 2024 plans in the form of a straw poll that will almost certainly rank him as the clear favorite among attendees.

But that is not the end of the story as far as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose star has been on the rise this year.

Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference want him first to continue the work he is doing in Florida before taking up the national MAGA torch in the 2028 election.

Bottom line for soccer moms is their children and their wallets. Dem policies are endangering the firs and emptying the second.

Even if they can’t bring themselves to vote for Trump, they are very likely to withhold their vote from whatever puppet the Dems install on their ticket.

A lot of it depends on where their paycheck comes from. Women with jobs in HR, government and education, foundations and NGO’s vote blue because it’s their paycheck.

But if you work in the real economy and are trying to keep your family and home safe and together in suburbia, the leftist schtick is really starting to grate.

That said we do need a “Plan B” if Trump for whatever reason cannot run in 2024. DeSantis needs to be the “next man up” if it comes to that.

Yep. I love Trump but not sure I could stress my way though another election with him.

Trump is a great President. But he's new to the political game. The swamp got him.

The left began its campaign to destroy Trump the minute he came down to declare his original candidacy. They did the full court press to make everyone who would bite HATE Trump. And continued to press until now.

I don't think they changed many minds since their first attempt. Although they got the dumbest leftists to actually believe Trump was a Russian plant, and he is the most awful man to roam the planet.

The minute DeSantis declares he will run for the presidency, they will do the same thing to him. The EXACT same play book.

It worked on Bush, it worked on McCain, it worked on Romney.

Trump won because he fought back, against all odds. He won in 2020, but had it stolen.

You, and all of the DeSantis supporters here (yes, I like everything he has done for Forida, he is my favorite governor, wish I had him.) are being extraordinarily short sighted, and somewhat foolish believing he can fight as hard, or as well as Trump. We simply don't know that, none of us, and that includes all of the DeSantis supporters here.

No, he hasn’t and he’s pledged to finish out his term as governor.

I think he wants his kids to be older and his wife fully healthy before he puts them into the presidential grinder.

He will pwn 2028.

Trump is our "Plan A" so be it. But that's what the Left is preparing for. Sometimes we have to switch Generals in order to win the war. But it doesn't matter. If Trump wants the nomination, he's going to get it.

“um yea that’s why Trump is having “TRUMP 2024” emblazoned on his plane at this very moment.”

That’s to be expected, just part of the plan.

If Trump gets the nomination, the GOPe will support a Cheney third party run, just like they did for Murkowski in Alaska.

desantis has already stated his attention is focused on his reelection campaign this year (2022), not a presidential campaign next year (2023)...

Go away shrew. You’ve been a never Trump hack forever.

BS.

I voted for Trump twice and he remains the only political candidate that I ever donated money to.

Trump's time has passed. Now piss off.

I hope that’s true, short of an emergency, meaning Trump not running for any reason, RDS would be smart not to run this time. He seems to be a staunch ally of Trump and it would be best for us all if he maintained that place.

Trump should hire you as a consultant.

You are dead on in your strategery.
