Q is the result of the sacrifices and commitment of countless patriots to win back our captured country from the Deep State and achieve the transformation President Trump promised in this campaign video. President Trump has said the awakening of the public is key to this transformation.
Q describes this awakening as follows:

HG is HG - cantankerous, a great shooter, and cook. Seriously, behind the drill sergeant cover, there’s actually a sense of humor. Few of us have found it, but it is there.
He’s got a knack for the quick strike trolling, which I’d prefer he use elsewhere where it’s useful. But that’s all.
No, he’s not going to come shooting at us for real. In fact, if there’s ever a real shooting situation, I’d much rather have him on my team than the other team. He’s a snarky asset.
This is an illustration of why many good people have been driven away from FR.
