This is an opinion piece by a Never Trump Republican Political Consultant. If you can put yourself in the right frame of mind, it’s kinda fun to read this fantasy of his. He does make some good points which I agree with though, and I have pulled the quotes. For the record, I do not believe Trump will catch a charge. I don’t even believe that he is actually under investigation, the people around him are. Just like every single other time over the past 40yrs that Trump or the Trump org has been “under investigation” according to the media. Trump is the bait in a trap. This time is no different.
Anyway, the calculus here is still correct in my view and all the more reason to believe that Trump will never be indicted.

Any prosecution is going to be a circus in which any slip-up by Garland or his team would be disastrous. Garland also needs to get Trump on a felony. But worst of all would be an acquittal. If Trump were tried and acquitted, he could just coast off that victory right into the White House...
Unless Garland has an absolutely open-and-shut case — or he is ready to play with fire — the attorney general is likely to slow-play a Trump prosecution. But for those around Trump, I would suggest lawyering up.”
That last line is my favorite. Those around Trump should lawyer up, because if there is any criminality here, such as folks involved in the J6 COUP AGAINST TRUMP (which is what it was), most likely THEY are the ones who will catch a charge.

The FBI raid on Donald Trump's home and office in Florida was approved by the main Justice Department and is part of an investigation in Washington D.C. into the former president's handling of classified information, two sources told Just the News on Monday evening.
The two sources, both briefed on the raid, said the agents who executed the search were from the Washington Field Office, the same office that whistleblowers recently complained to Sen. Charles Grassley was involved in political meddling into investigations involving Trump and Hunter Biden.
The agents were seeking evidence related to whether Trump removed classified documents from the White House to his compound at Mar a Lago, the sources said.
The National Archives recently lodged a complaint with the FBI regarding possible mishandling of documents, officials have previously confirmed.
The raid, if accurately described by the sources, stands in stark contrast to how the FBI dealt with similar allegations of mishandled classified emails by Hillary Clinton. In that case, the FBI worked through her lawyer, David Kendall, and even allowed Kendall to hold onto alleged classified materials inside a specialized safe in his office rather than conduct a raid.
This reporter broke that story back in 2015 while editor of The Washington Times.
