...and this crap has relevance to .....WHAT?
Love the song.
I was in college, Reagan was president, the Cold War was on, and Jimmy Carter was out. Men were men and women were women, and had little bodies and big hair, and leftist hippies were drug fried brain dead and relatively harmless who like us all, just wanted to be left alone, something we could all agree on.
It was a different world then.
He also sang for Wild Cherry, but not on their hits.
Good one. I was thinking of this song for a few weeks recently, trying to remember the name of the song and singer, but all I could remember was the rhythm. I was always humming, “ahhhh leeeee, ahhhh” in my head, but had no idea that I might have found it with a search for that, so I didn’t even bother. Thanks for clearing that up. How serendipitous…again. Weird!
Always liked this song.
I never saw the video until now, though. It’s terrible. lol
Good way to start the day.👍
Kind of had a “Cars” feel to the song.
Great trivia! The Rapper was one of my favorite songs to roller skate to when I was a kid. Roller rink on Friday nights, so much fun. I had no idea that Donnie Iris was a member of that group.
He also did “Love is Like a Rock”.
Video is cheesy but that’s part of what made the 80s so great. Good song. I’d give anything to go back to the early 80s. I really hate what the left has turned this country into, when it used to be so great. They didn’t destroy this country by accident. They did it on purpose.
This popped up while I was still at the diploma mill. I was/am no fan of “Iris,” but the single was catchy and I thought the album cover was a quirky hoot.
Dahhny Iris! If you don’t like him you must be a jagoff.
(Pittsburgheze)
In addition to his musical career, Donnie co-founded a mortgage company called SimCorp.
Yes it was. "Ah Leah" is an example of near-perfect sound engineering.
Donnie Iris was the singer.
