Well I can’t say that’s wrong since I wasn’t there. But that would be very unusual, and she certainly was not the GOP nominee.

Have any of these people actually read the damn opinion??? It has nothing to do with legality or illegality, but holds it is not a Federal matter under the Constitution, it is a State matter. Which means their stupid legislation is unconstitutional.

No, it doesn’t go that far. Though it is still unacceptable.

You're missing the most important part: they kicked the issue back to the States, because that's where it belongs.

They kicked it back to the states because there was no federal jurisdiction at the time the decision was made. That would not prevent a future legislative enactment into law by congress which is the path the dims are taking.

RCV is that BS. She can indeed win decisively even if virtually no one votes for her as their first choice.

The only Bill that will get through is a narrow drafted one neither side will like but will be acceptable and once that issue is off the table then what will the Extremists on both sides argue about next?

I worry with this new voting method. Dems can vote for her and push her to the top.

Shocked that they would not want this as a wedge issue. Must mean they are getting absolutely shellacked in the Midterms

Oh yes, I remember all of those threads very well where that stuff was posted. Then there was that effort to try to drown her out of the list by having many dozens of other people being encouraged to file as a write-in candidate by the deadline and I remember a story about an old lady wheeling in with her oxygen tank to sign up to get on the write-in list. Jim Miller unfortunately self destructed as the campaign progressed, however, giving Murkowski juicy sound bites to put in her own ads to make him sound crazy.

Also remember all of the nonsense, which continues to this day, the NRSC was supporting Murkowksi with Joe Miller as the nominee. You could see the expenditures, the ads themselves being posted online, etc. all clearly supporting Joe Miller without any mention of Murkowksi, but people continue to insist the NRSC was supporting her in 2010. It is simply a falsehood. Of course, if you point out the reality of this falsehood, you are “praising” Murkowski and the NRSC...when you are only stating the facts.

No idea. I’m not even sure Collins had any competition during the primary.

They’ll need a magician to write the language for such a bill or it will run into the same problem as Roe. It is the business of the States, not the Federal government.

“ Just as retarded as not being able to choose between a party where 96% of the Senators agree with you, and a party where 100% of the Senators disagree with you”

But here’s the thing. 96% of Republican Senators DON’T agree with me, not about the things that matter. And 100% of the Democratic Senators don’t disagree with me about some things that matter a lot.

Yep. But we can codify Roe by legislation. Then someone will file a suit. The SCOTUS will take a year to take the case. In the meantime, abortion will be legal in all 50 states.

Correct, they want to use the legislative process and then, if necessary, the numerous delays provided by the legal system and the courts to muddy the waters and temporarily "get Roe v. Wade back" - all while planning to replace a Supreme Court Justice or two.
