I can’t even come close to understanding God’s ways.
But, I have to dumb it down to my way.
My children were not allowed to use a lighter at 5, or 10 years old, but later when they grew up, they were allowed and do.
It was corrupt because God didn’t say it’s ok.
It’s was ok in God’s time.
The forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge “Man is now like us knowing good and evil.” really made humans lack controls or wild.
God was very “hands-on” for quite awhile with people.
That’s a great question you asked.
I think about stuff like that too. Sometimes I stop because I don’t want to offend God.
Just that sentence “Man is now like us, knowing good and evil.”
Who is “us”?
I respect your reverence and humility.
To me, a capricious, inconsistent God doesn’t seem very ‘God-like’, any more than a vengeful one does; but more like a fallible human dictator.
Maybe God never forbade eating flesh, and that He did was just some notion that men had...
Maybe it was the ‘royal We’.
(Just kidding...)
