Jim Harbaugh Says He Would Adopt Unwanted Babies In ESPN Interview

A common complaint that abortion enthusiasts have is that pro-life advocates never lift a finger to help single mothers in need. That’s a load of nonsense, and Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh is providing yet another example of how ridiculous this narrative is.

In an interview conducted Saturday at in Muskegon, Michigan during the Maize n’ Blue’s summer tour of the state, Harbaugh told ESPN’s Gene Wojciechowski that if anyone within his family or program has a child they will not be able to support after it was born, he and his family would adopt the child to prevent it from being aborted.

“I encourage them if they have a pregnancy that wasn't planned, to go through with it, go through with it,” Harbaugh said. “Let that unborn child be born, and if at that time, you don't feel like you can care for it, you don't have the means or the wherewithal, then Sarah and I will take that baby."

Harbaugh’s interview comes after he attended the Plymouth Right to Life Dinner in Plymouth, Michigan just 10 days ago and unashamedly proclaimed his firm belief that life in the womb is to be protected and valued.

“I believe in having the courage to let the unborn be born,” Harbaugh, who is Catholic, said. “I love life. I believe in having a loving care and respect for life and death. My faith and my science are what drives these beliefs in me. Quoting from Jeremiah, ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.'”

If any progressive finds something wrong with Harbaugh now (as they predictably tried to shortly after his original comments), then they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for a problem that doesn’t exist.

Jim Harbaugh is a major douche. But he goes up a lot of notches in my book.

Have not been a fan of either Harbaugh boys (especially John, being the Steelers fan I am). Jim is certainly growing on me.

I take back and renounce every negative thing I’ve ever said about Jim Harbaugh as a football player, coach or human being. He’s a good man, and God bless him for his courageous and heartfelt pro-life words.

Jimbo, you might wanna ask your wife about that first.
Who will be spending the most time with an infant while you’re off with Football demands?
Most women don’t like surprises like that one.

Mrs. R17 and I adopted 2 infants, one in 1980 and another in 1983.
We have a 3rd child that came along the old fashioned way in 1987.
They are all grown and on their own now.

God bestows value, and protection, on those lives. Not you or me or Jim Harbaugh, by willingness to adopt them. I hope they all find loving homes, but personally I can’t fault anyone who isn’t up to risks of adopting such children.

His record vs Oh State is much more important.
Had he not won last Nov, he’d be gone already.

We do adopt, looking at a sibling group and they are the hardest to place. The oldest is 12 and is almost blind in one eye, they want to be placed together. ConservaTeen, and his gf, wants us to adopt an infant. GF is 21, and said that she wold love to practice, before they get their own.

Compared to the life issue, college football is completely irrelevant.

Harbaugh appeared to be a liberal until he beat Ohio State.

His son came out as gay and they were doing the musical theater thing together.

Interesting family.

It’s possible he’s an old school Democrat.
Being pro-abortion wasn’t required to be a Democrat until about 30 yrs ago.

What makes you think he didn’t? Why do you think it took him a few days to say that?

>> more pro lifers need to do that. Adopt those babies. <<

There are no babies to adopt. That’s why the white, gay couple from Modern Family is depicted adopting an Asian child old enough to go on play dates, instead of an American baby. Hollywood would be the last to put aside the pro-abortion propaganda you just fell for, but they knew that the show would be ridiculous if they showed a couple adopting an American baby. But you can’t adopt a Vietnamese baby like that gay couple, because even the Vietnamese had enough of American childless couples desperately trying to adopt anyone they could.

Same here. I have hated the Michigan Wolverines forever because of they way they pay off the refs to cheat for them. I see them as the democrat party of college football.

But this revelation about Jim Harbaugh really changes my perception about Michigan. So much so that I would consider purchasing a Wolverine cap and t-shirt. Full disclosure, my brother graduated from The Ohio State and is a school teacher in the Columbus area. He would not approve of my decision :)
