beef stroganoff, swiss steak, chicken fried steak, ribeye steak...
Just need to update it with a cricket flour extender.
Delicious and you can make more for less.
The History Guy did a video about Salisbury Steak.

Of course they’ll have to change the name to Harare Steak.
Exactly what I (househusband) do. Couple times a month. Lots of sodium, yes. But is palatable, unlike some of my "healthy" dishes.
Interesting historical trivia: Sir Thomas Montagu, 4th Earl of Salisbury, was killed by a cannonball in 1428. For some reason I always remember that when we have Salisbury steak.
Back in college ( 1970’s ) I used to eat regularly except it came frozen in a plastic pouch which you heated up in a pot of boiling water. I think Banquet was the company that made them.
Try adding Onion soup mix
I sometimes buy rare roast beast at the deli and put it in a skillet with some water and beef bullion. Thicken and serve on toast
use oatmeal instead of bread crumbs to make it gluten free.
I also think the texture is better

I cook a similar comfort meal for my family of 5. I call it 10 Minute Thanksgiving. I buy 1 pound of shaved low salt turkey, a box of Stove Top Sage Stuffing, a large packet of instant mashed potatoes, a can of sweet corn, a can or cut green beans, a jar of turkey gravy, and a can of cranberry sauce. 10 minutes on the stove (5 burners) and 45 seconds microwaving the turkey and we have a Thanksgiving meal for 5 of us for under $20.00 and my family loves it.
Love stroganoff...have to buy mushrooms today...so easy and plenty of leftovers.
Plenty of it around in Fallout 3!! d;^)
I make a great hamburger stroganoff. Must use ground round, fresh mushrooms and sour cream over egg noodles. Plus the spices. It’s so good. Definitely a comfort food meal.
I have used this Salisbury Steak Recipe, and liked it.

I actually make this occasionally, including some sautéed onions. They have it at Texas Roadhouse, “roadkill” on the menu, and it is so good.
My mom used to make Swiss steak, with a thick, tomatoey sauce or gravy. Does anyone have a good recipe for that?
“James H. Salisbury (1823–1905) was an American physician and chemist known for his advocacy of a meat-centered diet to promote health, and the term Salisbury steak for a ground beef patty served as the main course has been used in the United States since 1897. Today, Salisbury steak is usually served with a gravy similar in texture to brown sauce, along with various side dishes.”
Though the original Salisbury steak was rather crude, much like the original Graham cracker, with the modern version of both being much tastier than the original “health foods”.
