There are different kinds of niacin all getting called Vit. B3. Read labels carefully. If you take flush niacin (nicotinic acid), it’s beneficial and 500mg is not a high dose at all. It’s the other kinds you have to be careful with. Niacinimide is what they put in multivitamins, and it’s the inferior synthetic crap that you shouldn’t get too much of.

Yes. Thanks. Nicotnic acid is what I’ve read about and what I’ve read says that it’s beneficial. That’s what I take.

This is also what 70% of statin ingredients is with yet another slightly altered compound from niacinamide. I believe a good maintenance dose of flush niacin is about 1-1.5 g per day. For therapeutic uses, up to 5g a day. Caution, this WILL clean out your bowels.
