The famous names you mention as “jews”, have long agp >>publicly<< repudiated their Jewish faith, severing themselves from God forever.

It is on the record [history proves the present].
Rothschilds circa 1300 and Soros circa 1935.

I wouldn’t call them jews.
It’s funny how the left/media try to protect them from criticism by claiming they’re jews...media picks up the cudgel on their behalf.

I knew a guy years ago. He told me that he was of Jewish heritage. This was a good guy, he was a subordinate. I was in management and he was a Union Worker.

Somehow he approached me about the question of Jewishness. He had no idea what it meant. This was a grown man, a father, a family man. He literally had no clue. I felt as if I was being played. Not the case, it was a genuine situation. I was astonished. I knew the history, but I did not know the intimate details of living a Jewish life. I could explain Sephardim and Ashkenazim, but I could not tell him about those intimate details. I could talk about 2000 years of Diaspora, but I could not explain about the rites of the newborn males and the cuts on that 8th day, and lots more.

I started to explain things to him. I have studied Jewish History at University. I have been fascinated by the topic since my teen years.

Anyhow I soon moved out of that position, as I was burning out. I changed careers, totally. I never saw that guy again. I frequently wonder about him. I wonder why his parents so despised their heritage that they denied it to their son. The story is and will remain a mystery to me.

Interestingly, my children are of some Jewish extraction and through their childhood I tried to explain to them just what that meant.

You’re correct. The term “Jewish” is complicated by the fact that it traditionally referred to both a nationality and a religion. The two were synonymous for most of their history. Judaism developed at a time when religion was tied to nationality more strongly than it is today. Judaism originally meant simply, the religion of the Jews. As religion has come more separated from nationality in modern times, you have the odd situation that a good portion of people who identify as Jewish no longer follow Judaism. Complicated.
