It’s Happening!!

No, unfortunately not the happening we want, but another kind of happening I predicted and wondered when would happen.

So, I have been without a supervisor to review my work for about 6 weeks now. It’s a drag because I want to get reports out and questions answered.

The supervisor, with whom I got along well, left abruptly (gave two weeks’ notice, but I never saw it coming that she would leave, never knew she was that unhappy).

Something was mentioned a couple weeks ago about the supervisor of the other team filling in with reviewing our work and answering our questions.

But he can’t right now because he’s sick. With what, I don’t know. I found out today. For how long he will be out, I know not.

He lost two friends/aquaintanances this year to sudden death. He’s the type of guy who catches a beer at the local watering spots to shoot the breeze. No alcoholism thing, just friendly hang out in the neighborhood thing.

He got the 2nd booster because he is deathly afraid of getting Covid. I’m thinking he and the two guys who passed away got jabbed from the same batch at the local CVS, or some such.

This is going to create a big logjam of reports to be reviewed by the new supervisor, whenever that person is chosen, and they get up to speed.

No one from our team or the other team wants the job, so they will have to go outside to find someone.

I’m still doing 40% of the work instead of the 15% it should be.

I wonder about all the productivity problems there will be at many places due to the vaxxseems.

Sounds like you need to slow down a little at work. I mean, it stinks that you have no real management/leadership, but you’re also doing the lion’s share of the work.

It’s Ok to be a high-producer, but give yourself a little slack too.
