Yes it is, and it’s a very annoying thing.
My cat suffers from “solar keratinitis”.
It was terrible when we lived in Texas.
It is not so severe now that we have moved North of 35-North.
The best thing about mine is that it’s temporary. It only lasts about two weeks and then goes away. It’s like poison oak without the ooze. She said that some people develop an intolerance (allergy) to the sun as they age. Mine has been happening for about five years.
