I add some cream to my homemade tomato soup just before serving. Makes it less acidic.

Great idea! I always use milk with the condensed, canned version. Not sure why that didn’t occur to me for the homemade version as well. ;)

MWH You can try cut costs by using canned evaporated milk in place of cream in soup. When I run out I use it in place of 1/2 and 1/2. Worth a try.
