A few months ago, my husband brought home some scentsy bars for me. I could not smell them so I thought they were old, but he said they were just fine.
This is when I realized I had lost my sense of smell.
I can’t say what month it was, but I know it’s been at least 6 months. I really miss my sense of smell for many reasons and would like to get it back.
Mu hair stylist said to take an orange and cut it in half, then place on the grill and burn the bottom of the skins and eat the orange while it is still warm, then my smell should come back almost immediately.
I did it. This is how desperate I am. No, the orange stuff did not work.
Everyone asks if I’ve had covid because of this loss. Well, if I did, I did not know it. I know I can’t smell poop (and sometimes this is a good thing)
Does anyone know how I can get the sense of smell back?
I know that perfume bars in high-end stores use fresh ground coffee to “reset” olefactory sensors.
It works for “perfume blindness” but the sense of smell was there to get blinded in the start.

Capsaicin I understand is a good start to getting your sniffer back in order.
Stop using deodorant. Your smell will come right back.

Joining your slide: If you find out, let me know. I lost my sense of smell for no apparent reason about 6 or 8 weeks ago. I didn't get sick or anything. I just realized one day that I can't smell anything.
There does seem to be one aroma that is pervasive but not constant. Turmeric. When I can smell something, that is the only thing. The smell of turmeric seems to be everywhere.
And no. I am not taking or using large amounts of the spice.
My mom lost her sense of smell years ago due to hypothyroid. Every time I go over to her house I have to throw out something gone bad in her fridge because she can’t smell it and it stinks the thing up.
