The suspect charged with raping and impregnating a 10-year-old girl in Ohio has appeared in court, after the case made global waves when the victim had to cross state lines to obtain an abortion due to the Supreme Court's recent ruling.
Gerson Fuentes, 27, was arraigned on Wednesday in Columbus, where he faces a charge of felony first degree rape of a child under 13. Bail was set at $2 million.
Fuentes, whom federal sources said is present in the country illegally, confessed to raping the girl at least twice, a police investigator testified at the arraignment.
The detective also testified that the victim in the case was forced to travel to Indiana to get an abortion following the Dobbs ruling, a claim that Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, along with other conservatives, had cast doubt upon just days ago.
In a statement on Wednesday, Yost quickly took a different tack, saying: 'My heart aches for the pain suffered by this young child.'
'I am grateful for the diligent work of the Columbus Police Department in securing a confession and getting a rapist off the street,' added the Republican attorney general.
Yost said his state investigators are 'ready to support law enforcement across Ohio putting these criminals behind bars.' He didn't address his previous suggestions that the case was fabricated.
The shocking juvenile rape case exploded onto the national consciousness last week, when President Joe Biden pointed it to highlight fallout from the Dobbs ruling and pro-abortion activists seized on it to slam states that have banned the procedure.

The so-called remains of the aborted fetus are the pieces of this little girl’s baby. Why does everyone assume an abortion is the only answer for this already traumatized little girl? Who thinks a dead baby will help her heal from rape?

hey get their school shootings right on time, they get their “insurrections” at just the right time. They get their wildly unusual and fringe abortion tear-jerkers right on time.
It could be the media is cherry picking... or it could be these dirty commies are making some of their own luck.
It seems to me that the family of the girl and the rapist knew each other. How did he have access to rape her at least twice? Was he a boyfriend of the mother? A relative?
And how is it possible that there wasn't an arrest until after the case hit the national news? Assuming they've known for several weeks that the girl was pregnant, it should have been investigated immediately, and the identity of the attacker seemed to be quickly known.
It is truly a horrifying story, but the details of how and why this happened are probably even more shocking.
The illegal alien rapist appears to have been cohabiting with the 10 year old. When arrested, there was discussion about where the illegal would live that is separate from where the 10 year old rape victim lives. The illegal alien has gone unprosecuted due to "sanctuary city" policies.
They are likely all illegal aliens. The little girl could be the rapist’s niece or cousin.
It all strikes me as shades of Norma McCorvey, the woman used by Lieberals in 1972 in Roe v. Wade whom no one actually cared about. Not only was this 10-year-old raped at least twice by a 27-year-old relative, now she is being used as a political football. And they killed her first child, possibly making her little body barren in the process. But who will know? As soon as her usefulness for this event is squeezed out she’ll be dropped like a leper. Probably back over the border. And she will have to find her own way out of all this trauma.
The thing is a ten year old would probably not be able to safely carry a baby to term.🙄

I agree, she may be too small to deliver through the birth canal, at least at full term, but she could be delivered early, or delivered cesarian. It would be safer for her than a vacuum abortion. This would be the most loving choice for her and her baby, even should she choose to give her baby for adoption. With abortion she just ends up with a dead baby, and, as I said, perhaps barrenness.
I didn’t know 10-year-old girls had already gone through puberty.
