Apropo of nothing: about 6 weeks ago, give or take a week, my pinkie finger, close to the upper knuckle, had begun itching. It is a very compelling, insistent itch unaccompanied by swelling, redness, or lack of movement. I did, perhaps, strain the finger around that time, but it wasn’t of a magnitude for me to seek treatment.

What could be causing this dadgum itching? Could I have broken it? More to the point, how can I get the itching to stop? Scratching the skin does not help in the least.

Any thoughts?
