I started out throwing out out of date food this AM, ended up cleaning the whole refrigerator. Then went to PetSmart, and HEB. I thought I’d buy a hundred dollars worth of groceries, ended up spending almost two hundred. Some due to inflation, some out of fear of more inflation or out of stock situations.
They have a tiny section for lettuce, only whole heads of iceburg and the rest a few bags of romaine. Can’t stock up on that!

I’m exhausted and had to rest after putting only the cold and frozen foods.

I saw that Ivana Trump passed. I’d like to send my sympathy to Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka for the loss of their mother.

Congratulations to the Democrats who run our state legislature.

Colorado is number one in auto theft, number one in bank robberies and number two in fentanyl overdoses.

Show me a blue state and I’ll show you a mess... every. single. time.

Remember that canned foods last longer than the expiration date. Frozen food too for that matter.

2 Non-Perishable Foods That Really Never Expire
These non-perishable foods really do last indefinitely, stored unopened in a cool, dry, dark spot:

Baking soda: lasts indefinitely, though it can lose its leavening power over time. To test, combine 2 tsp vinegar and ¼ tsp baking soda. If it bubbles, you’re good to go.
Beans and legumes (dried, in general). Note: the older the beans, the longer they’ll need to soak and cook. Including: Black beans Black-eyed peas Cannellini beans (white kidney beans) Garbanzo beans (chickpeas) Great Northern beans Kidney beans Lentils Lima beans Navy beans Pinto beans Soybeans Split peas (dried)
Corn syrup
Hard liquor: Exception: cream liqueurs – because of the dairy, heed the label regarding “use by” dates.
Honey (raw): Natural sugar, high acidity and low moisture ensures this liquid gold lasts forever (archeologists have even unearthed edible honey in ancient Egyptian tombs). But it can crystallize over time. No worries – just set the jar in a pan of warm water to liquify.
Maple syrup (pure)
Salt: non-iodized salt (like natural sea salt) lasts forever. But even iodized table salt has a pretty long shelf life – five years.
Spices (dried): They will lose their aroma and flavor over time but are safe to eat indefinitely.
Sugar, including Granulated sugar Powdered sugar Brown sugar
Vinegar, including: Apple cider vinegar Balsamic vinegar Distilled vinegar Red wine vinegar Rice vinegar (unseasoned) White wine vinegar
Vanilla extract (pure)
White rice

I bought a few window sill planters and organic lettuce seeds and spinach seeds and will put them in the south windows. Good way to have fresh produce. Celery would be good too.

I don’t think Adams is a never Trumper. I agree with you that Trump is young for his age, and that he s/h a VP that people are very comfortable with as a true MAGA, or as Joe says, an Ultra MAGA.

Maybe not a never Trumper, but Scott has been hot & cold regarding Trump. My main point it that the age issue, will give cover for those looking for an excuse to bail on Trump.

Thanks. Yes. I keep most spices in my refrigerator to keep flavor longer. I had bought some frozen Buffalo wings maybe 7 months ago. I opened the bag and they had frost bite. I washed it off a little, but they just tasted too chickeny.

I planted some lettuce seeds in a planter in May but they never came up. It may have been too hot. I have a lot of plants in the house, but none of my windows are real sunny.

Well if what Scott Adams says gives people cover for what they do, they’re flaky to begin with.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has removed a 2018 article by the Sri Lankan Prime Minister on Tuesday touting a plan to make the country “rich by 2025” following the total collapse of the country.
In the now-deleted article titled, “This is how I will make my country rich by 2025,” Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe laid out his vision to “strategically position Sri Lanka as the hub of the Indian Ocean” in part by imposing WEF-sponsored environmental initiatives to address “climate change.”
A food, energy, and financial crisis have brought down Sri Lanka’s government. But the underlying cause is the fact that the nation’s political leaders had fallen under the spell of green elites peddling ‘ESG’ and banning modern fertilizers,” wrote environmental activist Michael Shellenberger.
Sri Lanka has a near-perfect ESG score (98) which is higher than Sweden (96) or the United States (51). It also can’t feed its people and it has run out of nearly everything.”

OBSERVATION - Sri Lanka was a Beta test for the GGR. Obviously it wasn’t done “right” like other communist ploys.
