Elon Musk's 18 year-old son has filed court documents seeking to legally change their gender from male to female and lose his last name, stating: 'I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.'
Xavier Musk, 18, filed the paperwork in Santa Monica, California, on April 18, seeking to be known as Vivian Jenna Wilson. The transgender teenage explained that she wishes to take her mother's last name to distance herself from her dad.
She has not commented on whether she receives financial support from her dad - whose $213 billion dollar fortune makes him the world's richest man - and whether her disgust at his antics extends to refusing any further handouts.
Musk was married to Vivian's mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson, from 2008.
She gave birth to a son, Nevada, in 2002 who died after 10 days of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
She then had twin sons - Xavier and Griffin - and triplet boys: Damian, Kai and Saxon, now 16.
The five teenage boys have kept a fairly low profile, despite their father having joint custody.
It is unclear what is behind Vivian's rejection of her father, in such a public way. Musk has yet to comment, and it's unclear if he was aware of Vivian's plan prior to the court documents being filed.

That’s a bit harsh. His kid is 18, not 8, so at least he was reasonably informed about the consequences. And a kid is a kid, no matter what a jerk he is, and Elon has a few bucks here and there. Support the kid, Elon, whether he’s right or wrong.

Young Mr. Musk had better do some serious investigating before he does anything stupid, such as having surgery to change his genital plumbing from male to female. He could very well wind up in a world of hurt. Regardless how those who push this insanity lie about it. The world is full of screwed up people. That is pretty much the only kind of peeps I hear about in articles linked on FR.
During my divorce my then 16 year old son (almost certainly a result of his mother’s coaching) told me that if I had anything to say to him to say it to their attorney. 12 years later I haven’t found anything to say worth paying an attorney to hear. The sentiment is most certainly reflected in my will, reviewed and notarized annually.
Normal people living wholesome lives aren’t ‘news’.
We do get some nice stories like that, though.
