This is always an issue with cool periods like the Little Ice Age (AD 1300-1800's), Dark Age (AD 300-900), and Greek Dark Age (1100 BC-300 BC). The left wants us to freak out over the Modern Warm Period, when it's the cool periods that's always the killer (low crop yields, less predictable rain patterns, higher deaths by plague).

What's bad is each cool period since the Holocene Epoch (BC 5,500) is worse than the prior one. So when our Modern Warm Period is over (I predict in around 2 to 4 centuries) the next cool period will be even worse than the LIA.
