While Trump has earned the right of first refusal giving him the right of first look, he should not have an unchallenged right of return unless he can persuade us that he learned something from his first time around and will behave differently next time.

When will Donald Trump account for his colossal missteps and acts of omission during his first term? To wit, in case you weren’t paying attention:

Being that Trump is Trump, he will have to be center stage. If he decides not to run, he will have to be the one to coronate the candidate.

“The only things he didn’t accomplish were the big MAGA items he promised in all his campaign speeches. A wall, infrastructure bill, bring back factories from overseas and force business to stop moving existing factories out of country,”

That clueless nonsense. He built as much WALL as was possible. He was fought on the WALL funding, WALL legal challenges, etc. and time and time against still kept working around all those things. You must think he was a King and could just make royal decrees, impervious from a RINO House, RINOS Senate, leftist judges. And many companies did move back to the US. German companies were moving to Texas and elsewhere due to the cheap cost of energy. What do you think he could have had imprisoned, all CEO’s that didn’t move their companies to the US?

The GOP needs a 2024-Ronald Reagan.

Like the first Ronald Reagan the POTUS of 2024 will enter with still very high inflation and interest rates running high (hopefully, due to the Fed finally trying to choke off inflation).

People will be hurting financially, but there will be big international security issues also, and no time to reduce military spending. But with the public still suffering while inflation is wrenched out of the economy, the Dim mantra in Congress will be for big federal domestic spending “to help the people”.

Ronald Reagan managed to withstand that Dim onslought over his first term. It will take another Ronald Reagan to do it again for eight years beginning in 2024.

Even now among the Dims and the Left what you hear about Reagan’s first term is not how Volker was wrenching inflation out of the economy, but how bad things were and how little Reagan wanted to do “for the people”. Of course we know what Reagan was doing with tax and other policies was to help the economy get past the period of high inflation and into growth, and with growth would come job growth, and that growth would be the medicine the people needed more than handouts. But 100$ of the media and the Dims believed not in that and believed, and repeated, their idea that Reagan was simply heartless towards the “needs of the people”.

I am not sure I see that Ronald Reagan in Trump or DeSantis and fear either one could be a one term President in the climate in which they will find themselves in 2024.

He’s assuming Trump won’t be back before 2024. Everyone better hope he is because if 2020 isn’t overturned Jesus Christ couldn’t win on the GOP ticket in 2024. Much less DeSantis.

” It’s amazing how much he did get done despIte the fierce opposition to him”

Trump was like some Terminator from a SCI-FI movie. He would get shot at again and again and again and just kept getting back up and fighting. An honest person has to say “WOW”.

The penner of this missive deludes himself into thinking that one person, previously unknown in national political circles except as someone to beg money from come election time, can walk in and change at least three generations of rot in every facet of government... in two years?

Yes... not even four years, factoring in how the establishment RINOs tried to screw him at every turn for messing with their sandbox.

Kinda like “High Noon” where surrounding cowards expect the sheriff to save the town by himself while they cower behind doorways.

Another Trump turn at the wheel would allow him, now that he knows the rules, to come in and start meetings with “You’re Fired” immediately, while also grooming successors to continue carrying the flag.

Anyone that thinks this has been a ‘one term’ solution is living on Mars.

Exactly...almost everything that Mr Hunt mentioned that President Trump should have done (hindsight being 20/20) is the responsibility of the states or cities.

Yes, just another deep stater hiding in the closet. If someone believes that the election was crooked, don’t let it go.

Doing that is no different from saying that murder trials are a waste of time ‘cause convicting the killer won’t bring back the dead.
Cowards.

Yep its true, his own party, the fbi, and the left fought him every inch of,the way and he could t get some things done, however, he did get some of them done, and he did bring bu s interesting back from overseas, git much of the wall bui.t despite furious opposition from both parties, g9t prices dropped big time for pharmecueticles too, which the left immediately u did once they stole the election from him. His,own party and the left fought him tooth and nail trying to prevent that even.

Our Founding Fathers PURPOSELY made it difficult for a POTUS to be a one man supreme dictator or king, and just cram in on the country, everything they want to do, or promised to do.

Agreed. He was one of only a very few presidents to have any spine and stand up for the little folks. Sadly even some on our side downplay just how uch he did get accomplished despite serious opposition to him every step of,the way. The fsct that he got as much accoml, ished as he did despite the fierce opposition just further goes to,show how effective he actusl.y was. People like Bush would get a little lushback, and they would tuck tail and run and hide.

Another thing he doesn’t get credit for was the fsct that he he actuslly too, time to answer questions from the hostile press almost daily. The left have insulated Biden from the “mean press” claiming, that they are too partisan and unfriendly lol. Trump met the enemy head on every day practically. He didn’t cower and hide from them

“All these Freeper ninny idiots. No one is perfect, but Trump generally phenomenal to have accomplished all he did under the circumstances. We should all be blessed with a Trump second term. Hopefully with De Santis as VP. Second term would no doubt be more effective with the greater percentage of MAGA officials and lessened learned.”

Couldn’t have said it better ... actually I can.

“Trump generally phenomenal to have accomplished all he did under the circumstances.”

Actually, generally phenomenal to have accomplished all he did. PERIOD! No qualifier needed.

I don’t have all day to list ALL of Trump’s accomplishments.

He did more good in 4 years than others did in 8. Better yet, he did things others NEVER DID!

Mistakes, sure, but mostly in personnel choices which he won’t do in his second term.

He has been fixing his “limitations” by endorsing MAGA candidates to oust RINOs. I saw the other day, I forget the exact numbers, but it was like 110 to 4 of those supported by Trump that WON!

Trump is “over”, “passé”, “too old”, too “controversial”, BULLSHIRT! He’s just getting started.

Hopefully with De Santis as VP. AGREED!

Let DeSantis sit at the kids table for 4 years. Learn at the knee of Donald Trump for 4 years. THEN he might be ready for prime time.

There are some good points to the column. Given the level of almost total destruction of the country inflicted by the Media-Dem-Soros Party in just the last 17 months, I shudder to think what the country will be like by the time Biden’s illegitimate term is over.

This reminds me of those critiquing some heavyweight champ defending his title. “He should do this or he should do that...”. Easy for them to say because they are not the ones in the ring, bone tired having fought a dozen rounds, all the while getting vicious punches to their body and face.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I have no interest in a political candidate’s military background. If anything, that’s something I would see as a NEGATIVE attribute for a candidate — when you consider the bucket full of @ssholes with military pedigrees who have polluted the Beltway during the course of my adult lifetime.

Silly rabbits, TRUMP WON BIGLY BOTH TIMES!

BIG win the first time and a YUGE win the second time.

Suburban housewives my arse. IF, that’s IF Trump lost suburban housewives, then I guess he DOESN’T NEED THEM!

If Trump runs (ALL INDICATIONS are that he WILL) HE Will WIN IN A LANDSLIDE no matter who his opponent is.

FOUR MORE YEARS!, FOUR MORE YEARS!

“ Trump KEPT more of his campaign promised than any POTUS in my lifetime.”

Trump kept us out of new wars. That’s a great achievement. It was one of the five mainbpromises he made at every 2016 campaign stop. He didn’t keep the other four promises.

I love DeSantis, shown good smarts and warrior ethos but you never know if that will hold up in the incredible pressure of a being a conservative Republican as POTUS. Every SEAL will tell you, no ones who will ring the bell in BUDS until they go under the intense pressure. 100 think they wont. 90 do. Some of those go off, toughen, and then try again and make it. So it would be good for DeSantis to maybe get more seasoning first.
