The GOP needs a 2024-Ronald Reagan.

Like the first Ronald Reagan the POTUS of 2024 will enter with still very high inflation and interest rates running high (hopefully, due to the Fed finally trying to choke off inflation).

People will be hurting financially, but there will be big international security issues also, and no time to reduce military spending. But with the public still suffering while inflation is wrenched out of the economy, the Dim mantra in Congress will be for big federal domestic spending “to help the people”.

Ronald Reagan managed to withstand that Dim onslought over his first term. It will take another Ronald Reagan to do it again for eight years beginning in 2024.

Even now among the Dims and the Left what you hear about Reagan’s first term is not how Volker was wrenching inflation out of the economy, but how bad things were and how little Reagan wanted to do “for the people”. Of course we know what Reagan was doing with tax and other policies was to help the economy get past the period of high inflation and into growth, and with growth would come job growth, and that growth would be the medicine the people needed more than handouts. But 100$ of the media and the Dims believed not in that and believed, and repeated, their idea that Reagan was simply heartless towards the “needs of the people”.

I am not sure I see that Ronald Reagan in Trump or DeSantis and fear either one could be a one term President in the climate in which they will find themselves in 2024.

Lately Reagan has been downplayed here, but truth is he is still greater than Trump. Trump is no Reagan, and that includes the professional behavior. Which can drive a lot of getting things done. Trump had Repub Congress to start then lost the House in less than 4 years. Reagan had almost all Dem Congress except some years of the Senate (but not to start). So I have a hard time with that “Trump had so many obstacles).

I think RON Desantis has a better chance of being a RON Reagan. Not the wonderful personality, which NO ONE could possibly sanely hate, but basically he has zero baggage, including handling himself more professionally than Trump. He has not burned bridges, but he can punch back without being completely unglued. And RD pushes forth serious action.
