That’s kind of how I live my life.
I do a little extra everything I do...and it adds up.
Same in reverse. I figure out ways to spend a few dollars less.

Scary. Don’t like it because we are trapped in this insanity, by someone else’s doing, for who knows how long.

True about not being able to eat gold but it may be a good barter like booze and cigarettes. If hyperinflation occurs, you can’t eat a fistful of worthless dollars either.

There are mini-windmills that when they spin, they generate electricity and capture the humidity out of the air for drinking. They’re used in Africa. As for the amount of electricity, a very small amount is my recollection because the windmills were only 6-10’

Five years ago my immediate family decided that for any gift-giving occasion, gifts needed to be ‘consumable.’ We all have MORE than enough STUFF. So for birthdays you now get good chocolates or a bottle of wine, a candle, shampoo, body lotion, etc. Beau gets guy stuff; usually a gift card to Cabela’s, which he loves.

At Christmas Mom buys us girls a case of TP and a case of Paper Towels. She loves Costco! She also shops there for the Albacore canned tuna that I like, which is still reasonably priced. Why waste your time eating bad fish?

If you’ve been especially ‘good’ that year, she’ll throw in a canned ham or some bacon, LOL!

I try to always be good. ;)

Speaking of ‘canned hams.’ They were always a great incentive when I was managing the Garden Center.

I would run sales competitions and whoever won that week, would win a canned ham. They even had Customers in on the play! “Could you just buy ONE more flat of Marigolds? I’m trying to win a canned ham!” LOL!

You’ve never seen employees so competitive over a canned ham; it was hilarious! Whenever I run into a former worker, they always ask when they can compete for the next canned ham. ;)

Albacore canned tuna

The regular makes my stomach ache so I only eat albacore :) I am buying another 5 gal gas can as I can see a potential shortage under Brandon and simply don't want to be inconvenienced and also have it at the ready.

You can order online but not sure what the shipping rates are.

Feces: a 5 gallon bucket and plastic liners. Plus, a comfortable seat...think toilet seats on top.

Cut the bottom out of the bucket, and put the bucket in a shallow hole. Bury the results, and the bucket is reusable.

“Emergency Food Supply = local zoo.”

Or, “What’s that moving in my back yard?”

Thanks. I didn’t realize that. Maybe that’s useful for some items that they uniquely carry; not sure it would be cost effective for most, given shipping. Looks like I’d have to go to Richmond to get to the nearest one.

At least the other Augason Farms prices were stable. The egg prices are due to to the purely “coincidental” bird flu that has resulted in the culling of millions of chickens.

Definitely a great convenience item - but unless you have a large underground propane tank there is a limited period of usefulness.

I have one too - not against them by any means, just a reminder that being secure and quiet is part of good prepping.

Too many predator preppers out there that only purchase ammunition and look for other folks who have food.

I remember there being a “ham and beans” and a “pork and beans”, and one was halfway-decent but the other was ghastly, but couldn’t remember which was which.

It’s amazing how much you can forget in a half-century.

Perhaps now I’ll remember that the ghastly one was “ham and mf-ers”.

Ah yes; Ham and M'Fers! The only way I could eat those things was to drain all of the liquid from the can and refill it with water. Then I'd boil them, and then pour the liquid out and finally eat them. You had to be really hungry.

I always promised that I'd find out who ran "Blue Star Food Manufactuing, Inc", and force them - at M-14 point - to eat their own products.

Yesterday, I did my research and ordered a six month supply of emergency rations from a highly rated vendor with a supposed 25 to 30 year shelf life. Between the three of us living here, that would last us 2 months. I figured that after 2 months, it won’t matter anymore.

Yea. I got 33 days worth, plus 2 free 72 hour supplies, plus went to the store and got rice, beans, soup etc..I figure I don’t eat that much so the 33 days should last a good 45 plus whatever else I have.

I’m the same way. If it ain’t figured out in 2 months, 3 max., something really bad will happen.
