Andrew Gillum almost defeated Ron DeSantis in the 2018 election in Florida. Even before all of these charges, he was photographed in a drugged out stupor on the floor in a compromising position. Instead of having one of the best records making it through the pandemic, Florida may have had one of the worst.

2024 intrigue: DeSantis declines to ask Trump for reelection endorsement

DeSantis’ reluctance to seek the former president’s public support comes as the Florida governor prepares for a likely 2024 White House bid.

By GARY FINEOUT 06/22/2022 04:31 AM EDT

FTA
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has plenty of advantages ahead of his November reelection. More than $100 million in the bank. A growing statewide Republican voter advantage. Massive popularity with the conservative base.

What DeSantis doesn’t need and isn’t requesting: former President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

According to four people connected to the governor and former president, DeSantis has not asked Trump for a formal endorsement and isn’t planning to. It’s a clear sign that DeSantis, who more than four years ago was a little-known congressman from northeast Florida, has risen high in the GOP stratosphere.

DeSantis’ reluctance to seek the former president’s public support comes as the Florida governor prepares for a likely 2024 White House bid, even if Trump also runs in 2024 — setting up a potential clash between two powerful figures in the GOP.

“[DeSantis is] a Cat 5 hurricane in Florida politics — and in a good way if you are a Republican,” said Anthony Pedicini, a veteran GOP consultant in Florida. “He is a force of nature.”

Good grief, they have nothing better to do than investigate the Washington “Redskins.”

What a waste of time and money.

I do hope that the pubbies remember Maloney saying they can investigate anything and investigate the heck out of the dims when they have the House.

I think the Governor is fully aware that he can now stand and run on his own record. When he’s got his own boat parades because he’s been such a good Governor, he’s probably feeling fairly confident.

I can’t see DeSantis challenging President Trump, and would be really disappointed. Having said that, DeSantis is wise to get himself positioned in the event that President Trump doesn’t run. Nobody knows what the future holds - especially when dems want him gone. Health, family, various issues could come into play.

Democrat leadership doesn’t give time to read bills.
Remember “you have to read the bill to find out what’s in it”?

I don’t think DeSantis will run in 2024 if Trump does. But maybe DeSantis is running for governor on his own and doesn’t need or want a Trump endorsement.

We had a family restaurant here for many years that won best country fried steak in Texas many years. They also had the best onion rings, looked lie yours. When the father retired, his daughter took over, when she retired, no one in the family to take over so she just closed it.

First of all, it is Politico, so there's that. But, I think a lot of this is the Dims & their propaganda machine trying to sow division in MAGA. As I said a couple of days ago, I don't think it would look good for DeSantis to win Gov & then turn around & run for Pres.

If Trump picks him as VP, DeSantis would already be well into his Gov term & that would be more acceptable. It would also potentially set up MAGA for 12 years, not just 8.

Trump / DeSantis would be unstoppable.

STARNES: Don’t Be Shocked if Biden’s ‘Second Pandemic’ Happens Just Before Midterms

“We don’t just need more money for vaccines for children, eventually; we need more money to plan for the second pandemic,” Biden told reporters in the White House. “There’s going to be another pandemic. We have to think ahead. And that’s not something the last outfit did very well. That’s something we’ve been doing fairly well. That’s why we need the money.”

Well, don’t be surprised if the White House says the same thing around election time when Biden’s “second pandemic” suddenly becomes a national health emergency — just before the midterm elections.

It’s the only possible way for the Democrats to save themselves from what is expected to be catastrophic elections. And what better way to force people to mail in ballots than by concocting a fake pandemic?

Or as Big Media prefers to call it, “just another coincidence.”

I'm not sure I believe Politico anyway. But if true, It seems it would be courteous to ask Trump. What could it hurt? Unless he was going to run for Pres?
