An Amish man cops say was drunk was filmed passed out behind the wheel of his moving buggy - which only came to a halt when it crashed into a police road block.
Bodycam video captured the moment twenty-one-year-old Nathan Miller was found in Orwell by Ashtabula Sheriff deputies around 2:43 a.m. on Saturday.
Law enforcement had responded to reports that Miller's buggy was 'all over the road,' Fox News first reported.
'Hey, hey, wake up!' Sheriff's Deputy Mike Talbert can be heard saying as he first spots the rogue buggy.
When Miller trundles on by to the sound of clattering hooves, Talbert speaks into his radio and says: 'There's a Bud Light can in there and he's passed clean out. We got a drunk Amish guy passed out in a buggy.'
After a low-speed chase, Talbert tried to block the road, and the buggy crashed into the deputy's car.
'I have it stopped,' Talbert said. 'Nope, disregard, he just rammed it into my car.'
It was only then that a very-confused Miller woke up, and finally regained control of his buggy.
Miller has been arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence. He is scheduled in court on May 26.
Penalties for operating horse-drawn vehicles while impaired are generally lighter than those drunk car drivers are given, and Miller will likely be slapped with a fine.

Must have been a real “barn-raiser” of a party.
What goes clop, clop, bang, bang, clop clop?
An Amish drive by shooting!
He was just starting to turn his life around. Crying shame
After a low-speed chase...

Indeed. Probably doesn’t make for very exciting video footage. What’s an Amish buggy’s top speed? 15 MPH?
behind the wheel of his moving buggy
Never seen one of those with a horse
Yep. Weird Al.
That was written for the urban elites who think hamburger meat comes from the grocery store….
At least the horse knew the way home…not that I would know about riding a horse while drunk…
What is the difference between sleeping/driving drunk in a self driving car, and in a horse and buggy set up? Nothing, and I don’t see the crime here at all. The Horse was driving, just as the driverless Tesla would have been.
“Did the cop consider using the PIT maneuver?”
You mean like with another horse?
I don’t believe you. For one, the term Puppy mill was invented by government and the breeding industry.
I still remember being able to find puppys or kittens in parking lot held by kids. The cost? 10 25 or $50 , sometimes free. Now to get a dog costs $500 to start, they want a guarantee that you spay or neuter them, then the shots etc.
Sorry, it was a lot better life when government was smaller, and business did not bribe them with cash or donations to build businesses that cannot be competed against.
Don’t go telling Lebanon Levi that, English!
An Amish guy in a buggy, a threat to society, OK.
was the horse drunk?
why would it run into the cop car?
Guy has to be a NASCAR driver. Perfect pass!
The police officer should have gallop up to the buggy like in the old westerns and leaped onto the buggy to save the day.
