The Heifers are in the pasture, now. They’re so pretty and very gentle. I go down the hill to tell them ‘Good Morning’ when I let the first rotation of dogs out to the exercise yard in the mornings...which I need to do right now!
The house is from 1900. It was originally your basic 4-square Colonial, but had the kitchen added on one end and a family room added on to the other at different times.
Beau bought it in 1983. It had been standing empty for 5 years, prior. After he moved the raccoons and rats out, he started rehabbing it. He did a beautiful job and we’ve had a number of visitors through the years who also used to live here and are just thrilled that someone is loving, ‘The Old Farm’ again.
We started calling it, ‘(Abandon All) Hope’ Farm as a joke, but the name has stuck. :)
Better than my home on "Acre o' clay!"
(More like 3/4 acre; on a hilltop, but all the neighbor's trees mess up the dramatic views!)
