Unfortunately, we get to choose between a Bush or a crook next week. Bush should have stepped aside for Eva Guzman.

Well if so, Hannity chose poorly.

“or a crook next week”

Well, he is not yet convicted.

Never Trust what #ComDem’s say.

Bush should have stepped aside for Eva Guzman.

She was the most liberal and Bush-like candidate in a race that included an actual Bush. I think she only ran to make Bush look conservative by having her to attack.

I trust what his very conservative Republican deputies all said. He isn’t fit for public office.

What exactly do you base that on?

I think she only ran to make Bush look conservative by having her to attack.

Sure, she resigned from her seat on the Texas Supreme Court--one to which she was certain to be re-elected--to help George P. Bush become AG. Give me a break.

Crook my ass... those bullcrap charges were brought up by limp-wristed RINO pansies and libtards over SIX YEARS AGO! Once Paxton stated he was prepared to go to trial, the RINO/libtard scum tried to change the court venue to their scum-infested Harris County, hoping they would get other braindead scum to convict him. A judicial panel stated the trial could move forward in Collin County, where it was originally filed; that decision wa made a year ago, and the prosecutors have yet to submit for trial. Any guesses why...?

“I trust what his very conservative Republican deputies all said.”

Name them.

First Assistant AG Jeff Mateer, Deputy First Assistant AG Ryan Bangert, Deputy AG James Brickman, Deputy AG Mark Penley, Deputy AG Lacey Mase, Deputy AG Darren McCarty, Deputy AG Ryan Vassar, and Deputy Director David Maxwell. The first seven signed a very public letter about this, and four have filed a Whistleblower suit against the OAG over it. Were you not aware of that?

His deputies signed a letter accusing him of conduct from two years ago, and they are not “RINOs” or “libtards.”

Democrats here in Texas have a habit of bringing up false charges to try to ruin Republican politicians. Several others come to mind....

I was aware there was a charge. Did not know it was simply a letter.

I have not heard anything about a conviction.

I suspect it is a political difference of opinion. Texas politics has always had disputes. There has at times been very bad corruption, remembering LBJ and others.

Generally some “groups” (like the Aggie mafia) manage to keep things operating.

Bill Clinton has never been convicted of a crime either. Neither has Joe Biden. Does that mean either of them isn't a crook?

It is not a political difference of opinion. It is about Paxton using his office to benefit an Austin real estate investor named Nate Paul. There is a summary of the allegations in this opinion from the 3rd Court of Appeals in the whistleblower case filed by some of the deputied: https://search.txcourts.gov/SearchMedia.aspx?MediaVersionID=e4aef17c-e652-44e5-a0e2-33254e35018d&coa=coa03&DT=Opinion&MediaID=339a6f72-bbcd-4523-8983-8fc340496cb4

I know the first two men on that list, and they are extremely conservative and have dedicated their careers to serving conservative causes. Jeff Mateer has spent most of his career at the First Liberty Institute, which is currently representing the 35 SEALs in the vaccine mandate case and Coach Kennedy in the football field prayer case. Mateer was nominated to the federal bench by Trump, but the nomination was withdrawn after Cornyn decided he was too far to the right on transgender issues. Ryan Bangert is senior counsel and vice president of the Alliance Defending Freedom.

These aren't people who will make up allegations of corruption over a policy dispute. Certainly not all eight of them.

LOL! Jeff Mateer and Ryan Bangert aren’t conservative? Is that why they are currently working for conservative groups like Alliance Defending Freedom and First Liberty Institute when they could be making much more money in private practice? And what connection do either, or any of them, have to the Bushes?

Do you have any clue what you are writing about?

I have no interest in arguing this.

You may be correct. But I have not seen any of what you described. Not saying it is not so, but have not seen it.

Another point, I avoid Austin as much as possible. My daughter and my X son-in-law lived in Williamson County, near Austin. Before he was transferred to the DC office of his company.

Last time I was in Austin, my daughter was discussing moving back to Texas and we went house shopping in Austin. That was when Governor Abbott’s last Inauguration was. The two times before that I was there was to receive Family Land Heritage Awards for my Uncle and later my Grandmother.
