Shortage of contrast dye for medical scans leads to rationing, delayed procedures

U.S. hospitals are running low on contrast dye injected into patients undergoing enhanced X-rays, CT scans and MRIs.
The fluid, which makes the routine but potentially life-saving scans readable, helps doctors identify clots in the heart and brain. The shortage is expected to last until at least June 30, the American Hospital Association (AHA) says.
It’s a result of COVID-19 pandemic-related factory closures in Shanghai, China, where most of the world’s supply is made, according to CBS News.
GE Healthcare is the main U.S. supplier of contrast fluid, called Omnipaque.
The AHA has asked the company for more information on the shortage, saying hospitals rely on a consistent supply to diagnose and treat a wide range of patients, including those with life-threatening conditions.
“It is too easy for us to take for granted the readily available supply of something that is so important to our patients and our radiologic practices until it’s gone,” Dr. Thomas Grist said in a news release from the Radiological Society of North America. He’s the author on a new report on the issue published online Thursday in Radiology.
“We need to commit to changing the supply chain so that a single event in a faraway country does not put us in this predicament again,” said Grist, who is chair of the department of radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison. “We owe it to our patients who trust us with their lives and well-being every day of the year.”
The dye is being “aggressively” rationed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System and some elective imaging procedures are being delayed.
“We need to make sure we have IV contrast available for the patients in critical need,” health system CEO Dr. Selwyn Vickers told CBS News.
The health system’s supply of dye will be reserved for “life-or-death matters,” he said.
The University of Kansas Health System’s use of the dye is being limited to critically ill patients, according to Dr. Phil Johnson, chief of radiology.
“We had to triage and limit the use of contrast dye to only critically ill patients that had to have contrast dye either to establish a diagnosis, or to guide a life-saving or a limb-sparing treatment,” he told CBS News.

Guess preventive procedures also take a backseat, i.e. scans to see if one has tumors that need to be biopsied.

Dogs are omnivores and do benefit from non meat foods (as apporpriate) added to diet.
The vege cat mix provides the nutrients cats need, and they have recipes, which I basically followed. It is not cheap but well worth it. Since I am a vegetarian, I didn’t want to get involved with meat at all, and would never buy cat food anyway. The cats all showed up... They were healthy and most lived to around 13 other than the ones taken out by predators.

CDC’s Own Data Shows Catastrophic Results of Vaccines for Young Children

The pandemic, which has swept across the globe, killing millions, has exposed both an inexcusable level of ineptitude and inherent corruption within our medical and scientific communities. Dozens upon dozens of poorly thought-out policies were enacted.
Many of these caused far more harm than they provided benefit. Lockdowns proved to have a negligible effect in curbing the spread of the virus. However, these Draconian lockdowns caused immense financial hardship and decimated millions of people emotionally.
There was no science behind these decisions, but bureaucrats made them anyway. The same could be said for wearing masks. Science indicated that cloth masks were, at best, of minimal value. Nevertheless, mandates were leveled to wear them.
Schoolchildren in many liberal-run U.S. school districts are still forced to “mask up”. It’s both insane and scientifically unnecessary. Living in a “masked world” has stolen from our kids a vital aspect of healthy human interaction.
Their personal interactions with themselves and their instructors have been irreparably damaged by this unnecessary policy. It was never about the science behind wearing a mask. There was none.
It has always been about indoctrinating people, especially little children, to comply with a government mandated rule. But in terms of blatant ignorance, there is one COVID-19 policy that supplants all the rest.
The plan to force a hastily approved medicine on children without considering the potentially devastating consequences was a crime against humanity. Children have proven to be tremendously resistant to the COVID-19 virus.
They are neither prominent carriers nor viable spreaders of it. So when a vaccine was approved for children, many started to question the reasoning. These people were silenced. Again, it wasn’t a matter of public safety.
It was about compliance. It was also about money, a lot of money. Millions of dollars in child-dose COVID vaccines were paid for. These profits stuffed the pockets of Big Pharma execs. It has been a scam since the first vaccination was given.
The corrupt mainstream media refused to consider any alternative opinions. Anyone who questioned the haphazard issuance of this experimental medicine was labeled a conspiracy theorist. New data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) now proves that they were not.
Since February, CDC records show an alarmingly higher rate of infection in vaccinated children when compared to unvaccinated children. The age group targeted by this data is kids between 5 and 11 years old.
The vaccine was only approved for children in this age group in November of last year. There are an estimated 28 million American children in this age bracket. Only about one third have been immunized.
There is barely three months’ worth of accumulated data since the FDA approval. With time, experts believe these disturbing trends will get worse, not better. A renowned cardiologist and epidemiologist voiced his concern.
Dr. Peter McCullough said, “The data show that the COVID-19 vaccines have a negligible effect.” McCullough explained, “With these results in hand, it is clear the vaccines are having a negligible effect in populations.”
So why are governmental officials still stressing that everyone should get vaccinated? The mainstream media and Big Tech refuse to foster open conversation about the growing number of documented harmful side effects from the vaccine.
This is a scam. McCullough put an exclamation point on his expert opinion. He cautioned, “Given the overall poor safety profile and lack of any assurances on long-term safety, Americans should be cautious in considering additional injections of these products.”
McCullough also explained how a faulty bias in vaccine studies overestimated “any clinical benefit.” The data was rigged to make it appear the vaccines were critical. They are not. Even the CDC is now producing data that says getting “the COVID jab” may be worse.
Despite this alarming data, the New York Times reports that the FDA is expected to authorize a booster shot of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. Again, this is not about public health safety. This is nothing but a government-orchestrated scam to force compliance.
Even worse, Moderna has apparently requested an emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine for children between 6 months and 6 years. This decision has been temporarily postponed. These requests fly in the face of scientifically supported data.
Furthermore, Pfizer is pushing efforts towards a three-dose shot regimen for this same age group. COVID has never been about following science. It has always been about “following the compliance”. How many must be adversely affected or even die before we say enough?
