Basic Question to my fellow Freepers: How would a Supreme Court ruling overturning parts of Roe V Wade affect Novembers elections? (try answering based on what you objectively think the outcome will be & not based on what you hope happens)😉
Do we still have any activists in the DC area who can counterprotest this event?
No real effect on the election. Dimocrats always overplay their hand in abortion, never realizing that polls show trends away from pro-abortion. Not only that, but it will be yet another example of dimocrat priorities being out of line with normal people. Abortion is no where near the top of peoples’ concerns, so while they whine, people see their life savings evaporate and their streets become unsafe. Also, abortion sentiment is strongest where dimocrats already have the advantage and weaker where we need to flip.
Don’t worry about the economy.
Don’t worry about inflation.
Don’t worry about Russia and Ukraine.
Don’t worry about Critical Race Theory and Gender Identity Studies.
The Democrats have the solution:
ABORT THE MINORITIES!
I noticed the crowd at the Supreme Court...very young...18-20 range....college kids...
The bulk of abortion clinics in the USA are in or very close to the inner cities. Eugenics is alive and well.
This is to set up the end of the filibuster and Court packing. They’ve already prepared a bill to expand the Court to 13 justices. If they end the filibuster, they can ram it through, 51-50, or at lest they believe they can.
Younger voters are more pro-life than their elders.
There was never a constitutional basis for Roe, as Justice Blackmun himself admitted. In fact, one could argue that the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments require an abortion ban.
Red states get redder, blue states get bluer.
Hispanics and casual voters will have inflation and food shortages as #1 issue.
The Democrats succeeded in enraging mama bears. This issue will sway a lot of them back. Therefore it will help the RATs but saving innocent lives is worth the hit.
The left will continue claiming it’s an assault on women’s health the same way they claimed freeing the slaves was an assault on property rights.
It will probably bring out more of the Democrat base voters who might otherwise rely on the elections being rigged again and not bother to vote.
Thank you for clarifying. I wasn’t in the mood to sift through the language of the original decision.
Bingo.
Abortion is a loser political issue.
The Dems were getting those votes anyway.
They will drive more Hispanics away...
