Oh great another article bashing the alleged bad behavior of one bear. And I don’t see anybody asking the bear why he chased them. Probably one of them dropped a wallet or something and he just tried to return it. But they just ran in fear because of all the negative stereotypes people have of us.

That happened to my wife. The bear chased the dog. The dog--a large German shepherd--hid behind her. She had a book in her hand and threw it at the bear, hitting it on the snout. The bear turned around and ran away.
Imagine what would have happened to the bear if it had been one of her children instead of a dog!

Apopka is like 10 miles north of Orlando.
Ocala National Forest is about 20 miles north of Apopka, so a bear that size is a long way from home!
That animal was big enough to kill a human being, and it was probably hungry, too.
