A faculty job posting at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, says only applications from people who identify as "women, transgender, non-binary, or two-spirit" will be given due consideration.
The position was first advertised on March 21 and is for a tenure-track assistant professor of environment who will also be a research chair for "Climate Change, Water or Future Cities."
"This call is open only to qualified individuals who self-identify as women, transgender, non-binary, or two-spirit," the job posting said. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in "geography, earth and/or environmental science and sustainability, planning or a related discipline."
The posting says the "selection process" for the job follows "the provisions for a special program as described by the Ontario Human Rights Commission in order to address the under representation of individuals from equity deserving groups among our Canada Research Chairs."

When I was stationed in Germany, one of my favorite things to do was go to winefests on Monday nights. The tourists were gone, townfolk let their hair down, it was awesome.
When I got to work the following day, my first task was to give my Battalion Commander an after action report. He liked to take his wife to the numerous small towns on the Mosel (I lived in Traben-Trarbach).
The paler I was (from alcohol poisoning), the stronger the endorsement...lol. I exaggerate, fine Mosel Riesling was normally less than 10% alcohol by volume. One bottle never did the trick.
My neighbors weren't used to an American holding their own at parties. In that regard, the Gonzaga "experience" trained me well for life in Germany.
They would have to hire me then. Couldn’t possibly be more diverse.

It’s good that they let people know how crazy they are so you can avoid them.
