In coming years, conservatives may look back on the lockdowns with a certain fondness, despite the suffering and damage they caused. Why do I say that? Because the lockdowns meant that parents got a chance to see what was going on in their children's classrooms and were rightly horrified. For now, though, there's a fierce ideological battle between normal people and leftists. In Evanston/Skokie School District, the leftists are ahead with a radical gender plan. Meanwhile, in Florida, the conservative DeSantis team is blocking racist textbooks.
Evanston/Skokie School District is in Evanston, Illinois. It's home to Northwestern University and is an über-left, affluent Chicago suburb. To give you an idea of just how leftist it is, in 2012, Evanston gave Obama 85% of its votes and then, in 2020, it gave Biden 90%. That fealty to the Democrat party helps explain the new curriculum the school district instituted to ensure that its students fully embrace the "gender spectrum" and forever abandon any concept of a biological binary gender system: (many tweets posted at link)
None of what the school district will be teaching is a natural biological instinct. That's why "grooming" is the only word that comes to mind to describe the district's push to sexualize children at a very early age in ways that disconnect them from the reality and integrity of their own bodies. But this is what voters seem to want for their children so we're about to see at least one generation in this community sacrificed on the altar of leftism.

We must work toward complete separation of school and state. Vouchers, charters, and tax credits can help ease the transition.
Get your children out of the government schools! Do whatever it takes in your lives to make this possible.
Don’t even cal them “public schools.”
The accurate term for ALL of them are “Leftist Religious Centers.”

Even here in Free Republic it is astonishing how few realize that education can never be religiously, politically, or culturally neutral. Such a state of philosophic neutrality in the mind of any sentient human is impossible.
Government compelled schooling has never been religiously neutral. The current curriculum is profoundly anti-Judeo Christian.

It is because of the unwavering belief that if one’s child is attending a local public school, then that school is “good.”
It’s shocking to wake up and realize, no, due to overwhelming set up to not offer real education, but limit and control minds, there just aren’t any good public schools.
But that does not mean there aren’t good people trying to do their best work g there.
One of my adult children was a teacher in a small, rural public school in a conservative area. After three years, my teaching adult child left the public school system. The teacher actually has very little control as to how his/her classroom operates or the methodology used to educating or providing age appropriate material or much any other thing. Even leaving the class to go to the bathroom had to be prearranged .
Many of these Newer teachers (with five years or under of classroom teaching) are leaving as soon as they find jobs with equivalent pay. The turnover is huge.

Funny-
It wasn’t even all that long ago when homeschooling was considered sort of backward and weird. Obviously such a person had to be a religious zealot, believing the world was flat and with a really pronounced brow and small forehead.
Maybe these people simply saw what others were in denial of. A trend that started with small and innocuous things, where most could still go along with it...

I am trying my best, taking him with me to the gym, park to walk... Inviting him when we go hiking...
Today it is parent vs. the world. And usually the parent loses. The media, schools, game makers all benefit from this.
Even the counselors and experts giving advice will lay no value judgement on what is a waste of time while life is passing these kids up. They may as well be smoking pot every night, same difference. Only one is socially acceptable and legal, the other not.
Did you know they now have “eSports” in schools now. No kidding.
My grandson was a pudgy kid and teen...his mother did not really cook and his father, my son, worked hard to feed 6..now at 29...he’s nearly an Adonis...course I’m his grandmother...but what I’m saying is if you stay engaged with him...he will likely come around.
Public schools are just DEMOCRAT CAMPS!
