The shooting took place around 9:15 a.m. Monday during a combined investigation between CPD’s Fugitive Apprehension Squad and Covington Police Department, according to CPD Interim Police Chief Teresa Theetge.

As sad as it may be, he had a warrant for murder and was running from the cops, this is not a saint in my book.
You brandish a weapon when being chased by a police officer and you definitely will be a target. They told him to drop the gun and he continues to attempt an escape and then brandishes the weapon again. Seems to me like he was wanting to die.

All the media are saying that he was unarmed. A TASER is an arm! If the perp tases the cop, the perp can take the cop’s gun and kill the cop. The cop did the right thing.
