A Bahn Mi made in Bien Hoa Vietnam by an old street vendor using french baguette made locally there. I can literally taste that sandwich now 54 years later, best I ever had.
*note ... the little red Thai peppers you can eat at your own risk lol

Beef on Weck.
Then it’s a toss up between BLT, Reuben, Cheesesteak, grilled cheese, ham and cheese (melted), and egg salad.
Second choice depends on who is making it.

Anthony Bourdain had a question he asked all kinds of people - if you could pick what your last meal was, what would it be?
Invariably, the person would answer with something their mom used to make for them when they were kids, many times a type of sandwich.
Mine would be a BLT :)

What about beef on weck?A local restaurant had them, all you can eat. Could never make it to #2, they were great though.

Where in the heck is Pastrami on rye with spicy mustard? Ditto, and no tuna on a hard roll?
Bread is key on any sandwich.

’Bread is key on any sandwich. ‘ Maybe you should start a thread about your favorite bread.

Cold, sliced white turkey meat on white bread with salt and mayo, served of Friday after Thanksgiving.... I used to eat that. But I quit cold turkey.

Hot pastrami (lean) on toasted rye bread, with plenty of Gulden’s mustard on it. NOTHING better.
Reuben’s and a meatball sub are runners-up...but in a completely different league.
