RCID could tie up the Mouse in court in knots, and they chose this threat because WDW still has expansion plans in the 5-year range: Star Wars, Epcot's ongoing redesign/buildout, and Animal Kingdom was not. quite. done. with their recent buildout.

But I see something more nefarious here: Iger trying to knock off Chapek for the third try; with Recession coming, it's time for an activist investor revolt and have the come-to-Jesus meeting with Bob.

“And that brings us full circle. For probably the 4th time. So this has gotten boring. And I'm gonna go watch The Godfather. See ya.”

Best of luck. I mean that.

If the notion persists that my periodic income of $2.50 can do more than your $101.00 income during the same period, let me know.

Maybe we can make an exchange that will make us both happy.

It would have to be. For one thing it’s in the Act. If you repeal the Act you repeal the whole Act. For another it’s just a matter of basic logic. Providing the services was the price for carte blanche in their building. Take away carte blanche there’s nothing to pay a price for. After a landlord evicts someone they no longer charge them rent, back rent sure, but not future. They’ve been kicked out, no more rent. Same basic principal.

And once again you show you just don’t want to understand. That 2.50 INCOME give more spending power than you $101 FULLY COMMITTED SPENDING.

Florida’s budget is not all fully committed spending.

The governor had the flexibility to veto $1.5 billion in spending the legislature approved.

And the budget includes a whopping $9.5 billion in reserves - money available for emergencies like the $9.5 billion fight with Disney you envision.

I think $9.5 billion is bigger than $2.5 billion.

There’s nobody out there to bankroll those kind of loans.

Well you obviously know little about the capital markets. Disney could have easily borrowed the the entire amount. And they did acquire most of fox’ debt debt as part of the purchase.

Copyright laws is where the fight should be. That’s actually manageable and winnable. Those laws are obscene and I have thought that long before this latest scuffle.

Oddly enough it’s looking like they MIGHT not be working that fight. Mickey is set to go public domain in 2024. I thought sure he’d never get withing 5 years. And I haven’t heard of Disney doing any serious lobbying on that front. We’ll see.

I’m not sure that the public will be as easily swayed by Disney PR, now that some of them know that “The Mouse” apparently supports pedo-grooming in the classroom.

That could just be a postal preference. I live in a village just west of Pensacola, yet my address uses the city’s name. Just postal convenience is my guess.

The public has a short memory when it comes to entertainment. Always has. So many times I’ve seen people on FR insist “this is the last straw, they’re going down this time” only for the public to move one when the next movie comes out, or next season starts. They don’t care.

It doesn’t seem that hard. Avoid: ABC, Lucasfilm, Disney stores, Disney films, check items you plan to buy for the Disney label, etc.

You forgot Marvel. Touchstone. Fox. ESPN. National Geographic. Discovery. Pixar. And so so much more. Really you basically have to forego entertainment to boycott Disney.

I already have. Hollyweird’s support for pervo teachers basically was the last straw. My TV is now a large paperweight.

Honestly does anyone really care about Mickey anymore? He’s a mascot with no value outside of that sphere of use. It’s not like it’s Spiderman or something.

They do. Or at least they have in the past. That’s why they spent so many years and so much money and political capital screwing up our copyright law. Heck they even traded Al Michaels for a pre-Mickey cartoon Walt had done working for Universal.

Of course these days maybe not. The Disney empire is now so big that the actual “Disney” stuff is just a small fraction. And with the currently screwed up laws most of that stuff isn’t hitting public domain this century. We’ll find out in the next 18 months.

Please explain what the heck you are talking about.

Please note I had said they had no position, as it was going through the legislative process.

Please explain why you think I made a naive statement.

Thank you.
